Street parking. Clean place. Fish tank in the seating area was clean and well maintained. Music was a relaxed, chill vibe. Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones and Greatful Dead were played at a comfortable volume. Lighting was perfect. Not too bright, not too dim. Service was good. Friendly, prompt. The written menu on the board above the register had gluten and dairy free markings. The paper menu and website had absolutely no indication that there were gluten or dairy free options.
My hubby got a bacon chicken ranch wrap. He said it was good but wasn’t like in love with it. I myself need to take precautions to follow a gluten free diet due to celiac disease. The gluten free cake was stored in the same case as, and next to gluten cakes allowing for cross contamination. The large playing card to ID our table/order that was handed to us was dirty also leaving room for cross contamination. I ordered a cup of gf meat chilli and gf clam chowder. The gf clam chowder came with gluten oyster crackers. The soups were delicious and the cake was absolutely amazing however each SLIVER of cake (gf and regular) were over NINE DOLLARS! I expected there to be gold flakes baked into it for that price. Overall, it was nice for a relaxing, light dinner. I would return here. The 2 cups of soup and wrap costed about 30$ sans the cake. That was purchased after.

I ordered to go. The mocha smoothie is perfect!

I was hyped up by their claim of having the best burger on campus. The burger was way over cooked and dry. I asked for medium. It was on par with the best McDonald’s burger I’ve ever had. Probably just a bad day.

Update: Just went in to try the bacon again after the owner commented. I’m beyond satisfied with the bacon, not burned or hard to chew, just perfect. I like that this cafe actually read our comment and make improvements based on our experience. Thank you so much.

Original: The food great…all except the bacon. I don’t understand the logic. Everything else is fine, but the bacon always…and I mean always are charred and hard to chew. And I’m too lazy to ask for another one because it comes out the same way. I’ve had too much hope that it’ll improve if I get bacon on a different day. Today, I ask for bacon to go with my avocado toast and look at what I got, nothing was different. $5 up-charge for this kind of bacon was not worth it. I don’t how they made and not realize this is way too hard and it crumble easily.

Overall the atmosphere of the place and it is a good environment to just sit and relax. I love the different varieties of tea they had and I always get a different one each time I go.

Stopped here for a quick lunch bite between college visits. I think it was the owner or manager who took time to welcome us and let us know about the specials and what was worth ordering. Everything was made to order, very fresh and tasty. The Veg Chili and Clam Chowder were a hit. Wish we had more time to enjoy our meal.

Great spot. Lots of awesome food to pick from along with a full coffee and smoothie bar. The staff was very helpful and actually had personality – can’t say the same about other places. Nice college town spot for sure, will go back!

Loved everything about this place! The decor is awesome and atmosphere is so lively. The servers were very friendly. Their menu options seem to be endless which made me a bit confused; I wanted to try a bit of everything, but I controlled myself to two things. I had the hummus with tomato, avocado on GF toast – delicious. It was the first time I ever had hummus with avocado & tomato and it’s my new favorite. My husband had bacon, egg & cheese on a bun with home fries- his home fries were spicy, which were not spicy fans but he did like his BEC. When I’m back to pick up my son from school, I’ll have to stop by again and try something else. They also had desserts showing inside the glass casing that looked divine. They had a chocolate flourless cake that was calling my name – I’ll see you next time I’m on campus!

Stopped in here on a Sunday mid morning. It wasn’t too crowded. Had their bottomless coffees, very reasonably priced by the way, and a meal. Parking can be a little hairy, but that’s because this is downtown UConn.

Always a great visit. We were with my partner’s mom who had some recent health issues. The owner went out of his way to come by our table and wish her the best.

Cute in here, feels like a nice college spot but some issues with the food. First the coffee is low quality, and the flavored coffee beans mid-nineties style is odd. That’s all there is to say about that. The “best evah” breakfast sandwich was. Not. See photo. I’m sure students are cooking and doing their best. Evah.

We brought our son here for breakfast as he just started at UConn. It is a nice large establishment, so much to choose from on the menu & service is quick. Everything we had was delicious. Would definitely go back again.
