When we asked about it, we were told that the happy hour was not applied because we didn’t specifically mention it before ordering. The staff said we should have known about it and pointed it out in advance.
That’s really disappointing. If a happy hour is advertised publicly, it should be honored automatically during the stated time — not only if guests explicitly ask for it. Otherwise, it feels misleading.
The food and drinks were fine, but this handling of the situation left a bad impression and took away from what could have been a good evening. Transparency and consistency matter, especially at this price point.
Updated, finally visited the location and it was amazing. Plenty of beer options, seating, and the food was just as good. Service was great.
Best onion rings I’ve had in a long time and will be back for more.
I really appreciated the beer tastings and the selection was just fine. Might consider adding some dessert stouts and more complex hefeweizens, but all the beers were popular or interesting. A lot of safe choices.
Fast no-nonsense service.
I only have two critical recommendations:
1. Fix whatever that awful vibration was when entering. Literally feeling the negative vibes when you come in.
2. Offer pretzels. Never been to a beer garden that didn’t have big fluffy salted pretzels.
My only complaint was that the restaurant was quite cold inside. I had to keep a jacket on while we ate. Other than that, it was a great experience.
The King’s Hawaiian Roll buns are just delicious. The salted caramel shake is smooth and creamy. Had to have a PBR in a paper bag as a throwback to college days. Wonderful, wonderful concept they have here.
Good amount of tv screens at the bar. The menu is simple, yet enough variety to keep you coming back. I can’t wait to try everything. The micro brewery beer selection looks great. Good value on all prices. Outdoor seating if you like. Parking is tight, though.
UPDATE: They changed their rolls. I don’t feel it’s the same Hawaiian sweet rolls, different color and bland taste. That changes everything. Their service is not as good and their beer serves at differing warm temperatures. They haven’t cleaned their outdoor dining area in years.. So disappointed.
