I prefer this location better than Forney, although both serve delicious food. Tried the jambalaya this go round with the catfish basket. The fish and fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection, per usual. The jambalaya was surprisingly delightful—just the right amount of kick. I find the portion sizes to be quite generous & service is always friendly and prompt.
The outdoor area makes this my go to location. Plenty of seating. String lights and TVs make it an ideal spot to devour great food and unwind.

The catfish was delicious, fresh and hot.
Hushpuppies are small but tasty. I like tarter sauce with fish and it was okay but I like mine with a bit of sweetness….sweet relish. I think theirs is made with dill. We ate outside and it was noisy with the traffic and intersection so close. Next time we will eat inside. We will definitely be going again. Fillets are big and lots of fries that were cooked to perfection. I had to get a to go box. Reasonable prices…under 20.00 for two people. We drank water.

First and likely my last visit to the Seagoville location…visited on 3/26/25. I was excited to have a fish spot in the city. I’ve been to the Forney location many times so imagine my excitement. Service was good, nice patio area but failed on the food. The 4 piece fish & shrimp basket was just 2 pieces of fish cut into halfs to make 4 pieces..smh. Taste wasn’t bad and I could give the fish another chance but for almost $20 give me whole pieces. Now the chicken…Big No! Imagine bitting into a nice size piece of chicken just to see it wasn’t done. All the chicken was pink!!! Complete failure…never again! It only takes one time to serve me uncooked food. I so wanted to support but it’s a no for me.

First time here, but definitely not our last time. I had chicken tenders (they were super large) and my wife had a fish plank dinner and both dishes were delicious. The dine is very clean and the workers were friendly and pleasant. You can even dine outside if you choose to. Seagoville is on the grow and Doe Belly only adds to it.

First time ordering food from here based on other reviews thought it would be good; However after spending Almost 100.00 it was not worth my money the food was super salty and overly seasoned that you could not even taste the shrimp or fish or cabbage or collard greens as someone had a heavy hand with the salt. I am surprised that no one else has posted with that info because I bought enough food for friends and family that had come over for our Saturday gathering and everyone said the same thing it wasn’t just me. I bought shrimp poorboy, fried pork chops, fish, cabbage, red beans, collard greens and fried shrimp and grilled pork chop. when I say salty I mean salty. I have had Cajun food and been to New Orleans multiple times and have friends that know the flavor and it’s not salt. I absolutely love spicy foods grew up near Mexico and eat jalapenos have even been in a couple of contests anyhow. Please Please cut back on the salt let the customer add more if needed. The grilled pork chop was covered in some kind of Cajun seasoning which would have been fine if you had not put salt all over it. Everything tasted like salt unfortunately with exception to the fried pork chops that were made into pork chop sandwich with mayo lettuce and tomato which helped ease the salt. I threw the rest of the food away. I am disappointed especially after waiting close to 45 minutes for food. The lady at the front never smiled or looked like she wanted to be there and I never heard have a great night or even a goodby and Thank you. Also Bring your own back up bags if you order a lot of food because they don’t have sized bags to carry the food in. Now for the positive the banana pudding was good. If you like seasoned not salty food where you can taste the meat please try the Mexican tortilla store across the street from this place it has fantastic carnitas and their babacoa is seasoned perfectly. I ask the cooks to go and try so you can taste the meat and it’s not hidden by salt or overly spiced. I might give the one in Forney a try so t

My brother and father got fried fish and shrimp. My brother said it was the best shrimp he’s ever eaten. I didn’t get to try it, but visually I could tell it was fried properly and not greasy. The prices were reasonable.
I got the shrimp etouffee, and it was only okay. It had lots of small shrimps and a decent portion size. The gravy was bland, and the rice was overcooked. It tasted like food you’d get from a buffet that was possibly from frozen. Their iced tea was good and tasted fresh.
We also got three pieces of cake: strawberry, vanilla, and German chocolate. The cakes were dense and not overly sweet. I enjoyed the cakes more than my entree.

This place is such a gem in the heart of Seagoville! The food was 10/10 , everything is cooked well and well seasoned ! Service was friendly and for the amount of people that were in there very promptly out. We appreciated everything was made fresh! It’s a small cute joint, and stays filled for a reason. Whether or not you’re dining in or taking out the food is going to be amazing!
