Dodson’s is a great spot all around. The service is consistently excellent, the drinks are good, and the vibe is relaxed yet lively. There’s always a nice mix of people, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. A huge bonus is being able to order a Cosmos Burger through the window—such a great touch and the perfect late-night pairing with a drink. Definitely a place we enjoy coming back to.

Dodson’s is a little neighborhood bar located in the heart of Waldo right off of 75th and Wornall. They have a great selection of cocktails, beer, and specials. We came for a few drinks on a Thursday night and it was pretty busy! The bar stools are super comfortable, there are plenty of TVs if you want to watch a sports game, and they open the garage for a nice breeze when it’s cool outside. Inside they have Cosmo Burger that serves up fresh smash burgers and tater tots that are absolutely fantastic, we will definitely be back!

We stopped in on a Friday night mainly to try Cosmo Burger and enjoyed our overall experience. There were no empty seats when we arrived, but we snagged a spot pretty fast.
The food options are simple, but well executed. I can’t think of anyplace in KC where I’ve had a better burger.
My wife enjoyed the Melon Ball cocktail ($10) and I enjoyed the house Old Fashioned ($12), although I might choose a different bourbon instead of the standard Four Roses yellow label. I also enjoyed a neat Russel’s Reserve SB Rye ($16). Service was prompt and courteous.
Availability of a whisky list would improve the experience. It was difficult to read the bottles along the wall and it would be nice to see prices when choosing.

We came in around 2 PM on a Saturday to order the Cosmo Burger and decided to sit at the bar. The moment we sat down, the bartender greeted us with, “Are you going to order drinks? If not, you can’t sit here because I don’t make money off you.” I would understand this if the bar was packed, but there were plenty of open seats.
We actually *were* planning to order drinks, but after that comment, we didn’t feel comfortable giving him our business. One person in our group still ordered a drink since it was his birthday. I mentioned this to the bartender, who replied, “Well, I don’t do anything for that,” and didn’t even offer a simple “happy birthday.”
Overall, it was a disappointing experience. The rude attitude and lack of basic hospitality cost them our business, which is unfortunate because we were genuinely excited to try the place.

Man, what a great spot to meet friends for a drink! Every staff member I encountered passed the vibe check. The burgers and chili cheese tots were killer. Love that they have NA options for us non-drinkers!

My girlfriend & I came here to try Cosmic Burger, but they were still closed. We decided to wait and have a few drinks until Comic Burger opened. The best decision I made that week. Their bartender Deon killed it. He made me one delicious cocktail called the melon-ball which was tasted and my girlfriend loved her Mai Thai . The black Manhattan wasn’t our favorite but everything else was perfect. Thanks Deon for the great service! Also the vibe and set up is cozy & cool especially if you like pandas

Bartender was beyond rude. Went to go eat and get non alcoholic drinks and was told we can not sit at the bar if we don’t order alcohol.
Now on the burgers were delicious BUT they also have a location downtown that was also great WITHOUT that horrible bartender so we will only be going to Cosmo burgers downtown.

My new favorite bar. I’m not sure what took me so long to try this place, but I’m glad I finally made it in. The bartenders here are excellent: friendly, knowledgeable and they make great drinks! On some nights you can order food from your phone and pick up at the window–the veggie burger was really good, one of the best I’ve had. Overall just a great place to hang out.

Very friendly staff, inexpensive drinks, especially during happy hour and relaxed environment. The bartender made some food recommendations for our taste and made a point to ask our names which is a nice touch. We will be back.
