I am in love. I tried a few of the menu items today and everything was delicious. The seafood skillet was the bomb! The turkey avocado wrap with sweet potato waffle fries was great. The fried shrimp with chips were perfect and the pulled pork was moist and delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try some more. Of the 10 people who ate today, no one had one bad thing to say about what they ordered.

First time at this restaurant and I really enjoyed it! It was a busy night so I was understanding but only downside was service. Waitress was pleasant but not super observant. Lacked on napkins and never got refills on our drinks. But other than that, food was good and atmosphere was nice
We had the burnt ends for an appetizer and really enjoyed the jalapeño ranch it came with. We also ordered the seafood skillet, which was a hit!!, and the brisket sandwich. Overall, I had a great time and will return

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had no joke. I ordered the Burnt Ends Mac Skillet, it was absolutely delicious. The waitress was amazing and frequently checked in, lovely staff and service. I wasn’t able to finish (not a fault of theirs, but my own – I have an absurdly small appetite) and took it out in a to-go box. It was so good that the following day on my way home, the still cold meal after refrigeration smelled so appetizing in my passenger seat that I felt the need to pull over and eat more – yes even as it was cold it still tasted amazing. If I lived locally, I would be a regular of this establishment. 11/10 would eat here again!!!

I recently stopped by Doc Portside to try a to-go order and walked away impressed by the food, though the overall experience had a few rough edges worth noting.
To start with the positives: the food was genuinely good—well-prepared, flavorful, and worth the wait. That wait, however, ran about 20 minutes longer than quoted, which could be an issue on a busy evening. Still, the quality of the meal helped offset the delay.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant has potential, but there are noticeable distractions. Items like broken chairs and miscellaneous storage were clearly visible in guest areas—small details that detract from the otherwise pleasant setting. The ambience was fair; the restaurant was relatively slow that evening, and the energy matched that pace.
Pick-up for to-go orders is handled at the bar, reminiscent of how Applebee’s used to manage their takeout before curbside service became standard. It’s functional, but could benefit from a more streamlined approach, especially as to-go dining continues to be a major draw for customers.
Staff interactions were friendly, if not particularly enthusiastic. It felt like a quiet night had dulled the mood a bit—not rude by any means, just not especially welcoming either.
All in all, Doc Portside shows a lot of promise. The kitchen is clearly doing its part, and with a little more attention to the guest experience—both in-person and takeout—it could easily become a standout spot. It’s the little things that separate good from great

This is my second time coming here and it was really good. To be honest the first time wasn’t great but this time it was perfect. The service was great and the food was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. I’m glad I gave it second chance because it did not disappoint. The buffalo chicken with Mac and cheese had me worried but nope it was amazing to me!!! I want to go back just to eat it again lol. The place is really nice and welcoming. It’s so spacious and decorated nicely. I really recommend this place.

Enjoyed stopping here while visiting Augusta. Mya was very nice. Food prices were very reasonable. The only downside was our first appetizer came out burnt. That was really disappointing but everything was good. Two up. We will be back.

The moment we walked into Doc’s we were welcomed by a kind staff and seated immediately, even on a busy Friday night in Grovetown. Our waitress was refreshingly good at her job! The menu had great variety, and both entrees we had were delicious and fresh. Although the live music made it much louder at 8pm, we still enjoyed the atmosphere overall. We highly recommend Doc’s porch side! The service was the best part.

Burgers need a little more sauce. The pasta salad has cucumbers, everyone took a bite but no one wanted it.so ya know, the cabbage has a tiny bite to it. Other than that, it could use a little more seasoning. Maybe we ordered the wrong things?

A little loud. The food was excellent. We arrived as two groups of 30 were being seated. Food was a little slow, but our waitress kept checking on us. The food was very good.
