Fun hotel speakeasy that attracts locals and travelers alike. Solid drinks: wine, cocktails and beer. Minimal food menu but more affordable than upstairs steakhouse. Great service and very busy with live music on a Friday. Smaller and cozier

A cool small speak easy in the basement of the Ambassador Hotel. Definitely worth a visit, even if you aren’t staying in the hotel. High end craft cocktails served by very experienced bartenders. Live music that doesn’t drown out conversation. Cool decorative touches. A limited food menu is actually supplied by the Siena Tuscan Steakhouse above it, which is of really high quality, even for just a burger and fries.

We had a great time last night at Dockum; a speakeasy-style lounge located underneath the elegant Ambassador Hotel Wichita, Autograph Collection has an incredibly sophisticated and cozy ambiance to it. I ordered a Piña Colada and it was very rich and creamy and also very smooth and refreshing and I did not find it too sweet, rather a good balance. My husband had a Sweet Pineapple cocktail and he enjoyed it and thought it was very fruity and light and had a really nice tropical taste.
It was a perfect evening for a date night because of its dim and cozy setting. The bartenders were very friendly and knowledgeable and you could clearly see that they are very passionate about the high-quality craft of their cocktails.

Hidden beneath the Ambassador Hotel, Dockum is more than just a bar—it’s an experience. The moment you descend into the dimly lit apothecary-styled lounge, you feel transported to another time. Brick walls, candlelight, and a sense of mystery create an atmosphere that’s equal parts elegant and intimate.
The cocktails are crafted with precision—layered, aromatic, and often presented with a touch of theater. Every sip feels intentional, whether it’s a smoky bourbon blend or a refreshing gin infusion. The menu reads like a prescription list, nodding to the prohibition-era pharmacy theme, which makes the whole experience even more immersive.
What truly elevates Dockum, however, is the ambiance. It’s the kind of place where conversations linger, where the music hums softly in the background, and where the world outside seems to disappear. Perfect for a date night or a refined evening with friends, Dockum delivers both sophistication and soul.

It’s been a few years since we were here but we were trying to remember this great Speakeasy we found in the bottom of the hotel we were staying in. We had such a great time here.

What a cool place! This isn’t your standard bar – this is a drink destination that caters to people who know exactly what they want in a cocktail. I even ordered a mocktail that was delicious! The speakeasy style atmosphere is hands down one of the coolest spots in tow and our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. I’d highly recommend making a reservation, even on a weeknight as we walked right in and sat down even though it was a full house. You should definitely check Dockum out.

Amazing speakeasy vibes, hidden gem in the hotel basement. Rustic industrial decor but with funky art on the walls. They really put on a show! A expansive list of drinks that fit the “medical” theme – light & fruity or strong. Pick your poison.
Booths and open tables available. Live musician playing in the corner on a weeknight.

OMG as Vegas regulars I can’t even express my excitement to enjoy this amazing facility. We were directed to a back secluded room for our party. I’m getting married and we’d decided on a Vegas-style relaxing atmosphere type of bachelorette/bachelor celebration. I can’t even express my happiness with the atmosphere and genuine class this place exudes. Not a single person had a bad coctail! They were delicious. All of them. Saying this, the service happened. It just happened. Our server seemed kind and relaxed but it had been observed multiple times that she would shoot nasty looks and roll her eyes when she thought no one was looking. She appeared to just not like her job. The pricing was just fine for a facility that serves alcohol. Probably best to just order bread in all seriousness. As a whole, our server kind of ruined our experience especially when we received our bill and she continuously repeated “she” didn’t charge us for the room… we were sat here… we didn’t ask for the room so we were all staring at her like “what the hell are you even talking about” we had a reservation anyways so… didn’t seem as though that was handled and we caught slack for something we didn’t know was a thing from someone that just doesn’t want to be there.
I won’t come here with a group again. Very disappointing, but I will definitely come back for a good Manhattan straight from the bar.

By far my most proudly found hidden gem thus far. I have been here twice now and each time they blew my mind. Everything is amazing from the moment you knock on the wooden door to be let in by their professionalism. Everybody that works there dresses amazing and very professional i love it. To me it’s not really a dine and restaurant place more like something I have called and maybe a light appetizer. But I also have not ordered anything other than the calamari and drinks. It didn’t give me the vibe to order a meal. It was hard to choose a drink because I didn’t really know what anything was on the menu, but I told my waiter that I wanted the cocktail with the best presentation and that’s exactly what he did.

Dockum Speakeasy – A Hidden Gem in Wichita
If you’re looking for a true speakeasy experience in Wichita, Dockum is the place to be. Located in the basement of Ambassador hotel Autograph Collection, this bar delivers a classic, intimate vibe with dim lighting and vintage decor that transports you to the Prohibition era.
The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The drinks are decent—crafted with care, though not necessarily the best I’ve had. Still, the overall experience makes up for it. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Dockum is worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!
