Great place!

I ordered the Japanese Teriyaki Udon with Beef as the protein, and an order of Shanghai Dumplings. The dumplings were perfect. And the Udon was very flavorful. The beef was well marinated, very tender and the teriyaki sauce had a balanced flavor that was not overly sweet. The udon had a clean flavor, with a slight sear from the pan and the associated flavor. It was not overwhelming or overcooked like some other places.

I stopped in on a whim, and I was very impressed! I also really liked the outdoor seating. I will definitely be back!

The food was delicious and the portions large! The beautiful woman with the pretty black hair with light grey hilights was attentive and I very much appreciated that. But the pot of Chai tea was very weak. I will definitely be back because the atmosphere is very welcoming.

I had the Marco Polo with all veggies and Thai Tea. It was absolutely delicious. The flavors just explode in your mouth like an amazing firework display. I’ve been eating here for years. Food always tastes fresh and you don’t leave the restaurant smelling like you’ve been in the kitchen cooking. Doc Chey’s never disappoints!

This place sucks!! Let’s talk about Ashley, because this is the sole reason for this review. My wife ordered a rice stir fry. When it arrived at the table she noticed it contained broccoli. The menu never stated broccoli nor did she want it. She explained this to Ashley, who gave her nothing but attitude and snatched it out of her hand. When Ashley returned to the table with the supposedly remade dish she threw it at my wife with a smug look on her face to the point you could hear the dish slam the tabe from being dropped from such a distance. Once re-examining the dish we noticed it still contained broccoli. So apparently Ashley decided (not the customer who paid for the food) to pick out the larger pieces of broccoli instead of remaking the dish. In trun leaving many small fragments of broccoli. I asked you is this the type of restaurant you would like to attend? A place where you are treated rudely by servers and a place where you can’t even get an order made the way you request it. This place sucks!!

During this same visit I overheard two different servers discussing what to do if a customer is upset. Basically the remedy is to completely ignore it because and I quote “if they leave a bad review on line it really doesn’t matter the owners really dont care”. As an owner how dose that make you feel when this is how you’re staff behaves? It kinda to bad too, I do enjoy the noodles but after this experience it won’t be any time soon I return and let’s see I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 18 years in July. What a shame.

Had the chicken soup. It was good. Will come back. My friends got the chicken soup with coconut milk, and it looked very tasty. I will try this next time. Generous portions & very attentive and personalized service.

Very friendly service but quite disappointing food. The soup was barely filled halfway. The noodles were hefty but only a hint of a few beef crumbs. Not impressed.

First time trying Doc Chey! The food selection is good. You order up front at the cashier and then they bring it to you. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and added chicken – quite tasty! I also got the Brussel sprouts which had a great flavor! My mentor also got Brussel sprouts which she enjoyed, and the spring rolls.

They have an outside covered patio and inside seating available.

Friendly service.

Went in withe wife today to try this place out. We had a good experience. Walked in and we were actually planning on takeout so we ordered for takeout but decided to sit down and eat as it wasn’t too crowded and there is plenty of seating.

Our host was Stephen/Steven and he was a great guy, very knowledgeable, very friendly and professional.

I ordered the General Chey’s with beef. It is beef strips, broccoli, onions, red peppers in a brown sweet/spicy sauce. It was pretty good, a little dry, could have used a thicker sauce maybe.

My wife had the Thai basil with chicken and noodles, that was really good.

We shared an order of vegetable spring rolls with sweet relish sauce, delicious.

Ample seating, plenty of on street parking, great location on Memorial Drive.

Highly recommend and will return.

I haven’t been to a Doc Chey’s in many years, and only once since the one in Asheville, NC, closed. I’m so glad I remembered this is here and got to stop in while in the area for work! Food, service, everything was absolutely amazing, and exactly how I remembered it still all these years later. I think there’s something to be said for that. I’m glad the menu still has my faves. The Thai shrimp rolls may just change your life. This is the last remaining location, and I pray it never closes. Wish they’d come back to Asheville, but I’m definitely going to find any excuse I can to come back this way for work so I can stop in and relish in the goodness yet again!
