D’Leon’s is a family-owned Mexican restaurant that started with it’s first location on West O as the only 24-hour drive through in Lincoln, Nebraska. Due to the success of the first location, a second location was opened on N 27th Street. This location was the first dine-in/drive-thru location that opened in 2005 that had one simple advantage, patrons were able to sit down and enjoy a meal while it’s hot. This location was able to attract more families to stop in because of the dine-in but it also proved a point to all customers that the food is made fresh and all the food no matter what are all family recipes.

I LOVE D’Leon’s, but my experience tonight with the food at the 27th and Dudley St location was HORRIBLE. I ordered a burrito, and not only was the tortilla dry and stale, but after biting into it, I felt something hard in my mouth. Turned out to be a piece of METAL about an inch long. It could’ve seriously hurt me.
I understand mistakes happen, but something like this shows a major lack of food safety. Looking at it, I can’t even imagine what it may have come from. I’ve lost all confidence in eating at this location again and ended up throwing the rest of my food away. I am completely disgusted and have lost my appetite.

Pretty disappointed. Went over today after work and ordered my usual shrimp burrito, no pico extra cheese and my card declined as it was more than it usually is. They need to make the employees understand the same pricing. It shouldn’t be a different amount everytime you go there when you get the same thing. If they charged me correctly it would’ve been fine.

I ordered six tacos two Carnitas two al Pastor and two Carne Asada. The Carne Asada were decent. The Al Pastor was chopped pork with chorizo definitely not what Pastor should be and the Carnitas were almost in edible. They were so dry and tasted old and like fish. I could not eat the carnitas it was horrible

I just unwrapped the most absolute destroyed burrito I’ve ever seen. Literally half a cup of grease just straight leaking everywhere. Tortilla is torn and completely grease soaked; not holding anything, was completely inedible. Like this wasnt just a little greasy like literally any other burrito ever. There was nothing to even pick up once I opened it, just a pile of mush. I got drive through and drove home 3 blocks so im not sure quite what yall got going on but trash food is not the move. Can’t believe I wasted $10 on this. Like it’s not even that im mad because the food sucked… I feel like i got straight up robbed or a joke played on me, unreal.

This is my favorite food chain in the whole city. I never been to this one before but I thought I would try it. I know it’s its not in a very nice part of town but this is the only location that charges extra for sauce and the customer service is TERRIBLE! WHY CHARGE EXTRA for stuff the other restaurants dont and then be extremely rude about it. I spend $40 on my order.

Of all locations I’ve been this was the worst. Got a chicken quesadilla and a super nacho. Asked for no pico and no guac and my sour cream on the side. Got home to the south side of town and opened our food to find some of my sisters chicken actually had raw spots in it and my nachos had pico all over the bottom and everything including guac in the corners on of plate when we called the lady on the phone was rude. I understand that we have to return the food if we want new. But she says. “OK but you took the food sooo.” Never again

I ordered 3 chicken burritos & it ended up smelling n tasting like salmon. went back to the store n was told it was chicken, left with food that I did not eat! Will not return. The rest of the food was very dry. After reading these reviews, I would not recommend this location

Good for the most part only complaint is that I had a carne asada burrito and it didn’t taste like authentic cane asada lol it reminded me of more like the taco bell version. The staff is friendly and the food was good but just not really authentic

This used to be my go to location when I lived in lincoln and I missed it so much I thought things might be the same (its been 5 years since I’ve been back to lincoln)
All I got was the rolled tacos with cheese – super dry for some reason
A large horchata – this used to be the only place I could get a really good one that had flavor and was perfectly sweet – it tasted watery like it was sitting for a while and they just re-iced it
A steak and egg burrito – very simple but why was it served with like a whole cup of grease – the grease was so bad that it leaked through the wrapper, the bag, and onto my clothing. When I opened the wrapper it was like a puddle of grease, thats ridiculous. Absolute waste of money on a trip that I could have used somewhere else and it saddens me that my expectations of a once great place were deflated from such a simple order.
