First timer. Small town diner eatery. Ordered coffee and breakfast bagel. All very tasty. Service was great. The thrift store items are distracting from being able to see in/out the front windows. Would look better to have all that on the store side. Then a couple tables by the windows would be nice.

This restaurant is one of about three in Marengo. So when you’re hungry and it’s one of the only ones open you go. Not bad food at all. Mostly diner style menu (burgers, breakfast all day) and they taste good. Nothing spectacular but the owners are super nice and they know the locals (and what they order), so it has a great hometown feel.
Where it’s a little strange is they have a thrift store (that they run) attached to the restaurant. And some of these items are on display (as they do auctions) at various areas throughout the restaurant so it has a cluttered kind of feel. I think it would be more appropriate to have all of this just stay in the thrift store area. Nothing I have ever seen before in a restaurant, was definitely a topic of conversation amongst our party while we were there. Main street type parking, friendly owners, and good food.

My family has eaten here twice. Unfortunately, both times we felt the food was subpar. We went back thinking things would be different, they weren’t. During both visits the staff was pretty unfriendly, they weren’t necessarily rude, but it felt like us just being there was an inconvenience. Even if the food was amazing, not feeling welcome would be reason enough not to go back.

Another satisfying Friday night supper. We love supporting our local businesses. Food was fresh and delish as usual. Since we enjoy stopping at antique malls as we travel, it’s fun to see what little treasures we can find in there little store as well. If you are tired of the big name chain restaurants, this mom and pop shop might be just what you are looking for.

I’ve always had a great experience when I came. Love the breakfast. The Denver omelets are great. Service is great. Owners of the establishment are great people. For the small town we needed a place to enjoy good food. Friends gather here and enjoy themselves.

Quaint old time restaurant / coffee and ice cream place, in an 1890s era building. Small town friendly place. Family owned , casual, with a simple but varied menu. Had a pork tenderloin, that was delicious and huge. The bun, lettuce , tomato , and condiments were very fresh .
