Sbarro, founded in Brooklyn, offers the Original XL New York-style pizza. Our dough is made fresh by hand every day, and we shred 100% whole-milk mozzarella cheese at our locations. We also use San Marzano-style tomato sauce. Each slice is baked to perfection, providing that authentic, foldable New York bite you won’t find anywhere else. Whether you’re craving pizza, stromboli, or pasta, Sbarro uses real ingredients and delivers genuine New York flavor for any occasion.
Italian fast-food chain offering thin-crust pizza by the slice, plus pastas & salads.

I was happy when Sbarro opened in Tyler, Tx although just a satellite shop of the original. Not quite the true NY pizzeria that made it a NYC institution, but still very good for NY style pizza in Texas.
We drive by it every day going to and from work and stop once a week to pick up a pie. We call ahead from work, 15-20 minutes away and it’s ready when we pass to pick it up at the DK gas stop.
The service when they first opened was fabulous. Really refreshing in this day of lost customer service. But it is now slipping, which was my fear when we ate there on their opening day and met a family member who’s connected to the original Bklyn owners.
The dough pressing has been uneven, leaving you paper thin crust on one side and thick as Italian bread on the other side.
Today on our way home, they wouldn’t even answer the phone to take an order. I called DK gas station to see if they were closed or if their phones were out, but they said all is working and they are there. Needless to say, we continued to drive by, as we are tired after work and do not like to order and wait 20 mins. Sorry, that’s us. That’s why we call ahead. I’m sure we will try again next week, but I’m not optimistic that this Sbarro will be what it started out as. And I’m sure the owner is fine with that, as long as they make their money.
Good luck.
