I had a fantastic cream cheese jalapeño burger and the hubs had tender yummy pork dinner.
Its just across the parking lot of the hotel we stayed at so it was quite convenient.
My husband and daughter both ordered burgers and loved them. Messy, juicy and packed with flavor.
I had the meatloaf which was fine but nothing special. The gravy helped!
When entering the restraunt, an employee greeted us at the door and seated us promptly (we were eating on Monday at 5:40pm).
The restraunt had a good mixture of customers from young teens to senior citizens. The place was busy but not packed on this day and at that time.
Our waitress was a lady named “Kim S.” and she was professional from start to finish. She checked on us and provided refills and answered our questions about the menu.
The pricing was fair and each table had a message from the owner explaining about price increases and why. I would not say they are overpriced and I would not say they are cheap. They are fair pricing and the food was worth every penny.
Atmosphere: The noise level was not loud, just normal customers chatting and staff communicating with each other. I even saw staff turn off a juke box at a table that was no longer being used. As for the jukebox, it has a switch so a person on one side can hear the music or a person on the other side or it can be turned off. The music was placed at a volume level so I could enjoy it and my wife could hear it at a lower level.
Food: My wife had a burger (Guacamole I believe) and I had the open faced chili burger. Both tasted VERY good and a heaping amount of fries was given. We also enjoyed two shakes and they were delicious
Yes, we would come back to “Dixie’s Diner” because it was everything the masses of people said it was. A very good experience.
We are a couple passing through to enjoy other sights and experiences on our vacation and this place was awesome. Thank you!
