Only giving 2 stars cuz the guy was nice, other then that no dont go here. My food was cold. What kinda bbq place doesn’t sell mac and cheese too ?!?! Should have tipped me off then. But I still got my food wanted to give them a try. Never again. Food was cold, and so tough, like a shoe sole. They give you bread but I guess they were running low that day as I got the heel of the loaf of bread not even rolls but regular sandwich bread. Bbq beans tasted like they came out a can. The potato salad , omg , was just potatoes and mayonnaise. Bleh. So no thanks. I

Excellent bbq! Was a little disappointed that their sliced chicken breast didn’t come with barbecue sauce (since it IS a bbq place…) but everything else definitely made up for it. Just make sure to ask for some sauce if you want some, I guess?

We love coming to this place! They always have good food and friendly service with a family atmosphere. Even when they are busy, they are not crowded. My favorite are the chicken wings and the brisket nachos. The wings are smoked and then lightly fried for that nice crispy texture with a nice smokey flavor. If you haven’t tried them, you definitely should!

This was my second time to eat here. The food was served hot and fresh. We have tried the chicken, sausage, brisket, pulled pork, and they were all delicious. The baked beans, greens, green beans, corn dressing and macaroni and cheese were great! I wasn’t a fan of the potato salad, only because I don’t like onion in it. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again.

Unfortunately I feel as though I must stop being a patron of Dixie Q.
1) the food, while still good, it’s a far cry from what it was in the early days
2) they’re now a self serve restaurant, so the wait staff is not interested in serving you at all, this wouldn’t be a problem except their bbq sauce (which is awesome) is only given to you in small sauce cups. So you need to request a cup and hope the waitresses care enough to get it in the next 5 minutes.
3) they’re always sold out of half their menu. When your order is missing part of their ingredients you’re not told till after your food arrives.
4) the price: I understand food costs are ever increasing, and don’t mind paying for quality. Unfortunately the price has gone up while the service and quality has gone down. (2 orders of pork nachos and 2 drinks is over $40 with tip)
In conclusion, Dixie Q has gotten complacent with their loyal customer base and relies on loyal customers to forgive their shortcomings. The owner Chris is a good guy and I hope this review finds in a way that doesn’t offend, but makes him realize that the restaurant has been slipping and will slowly dwindle if the apathy continues.

This place is too amazing. Which is better – the food or the service?! I guess the food but the waitstaff is truly friendly & amazing. That spicy BBQ is truly out of this world! Can I get a gallon to go? Or perhaps just IV. Most spicy BBQ is messd up by making it sweet. THIS ONE IS THE PERFECT BLEND OF EVERYTHING.
