A delightful eating experience. Great helpful waitstaff who are there to make your dinner just superb. The food is authentic, tasty and so very good. Seafood cakes as appetizer was delish. I went with the crawfish etouffee which was a big portion and so delicious, layered flavoring so good. The dessert menu was tempting but we were sated. Love this place

The place has a nice setup…soft creole style music playing in the background. I started with fried green tomatoes. These here were solid, probably some of the best fried green tomatoes I’ve had from a restaurant. They came out hot n fresh…seasoned perfectly. I use the hot cakes as bread to make a sandwich with a few generous dabs of hot sauce too…chef kiss. 9.8. Next I went with the gumbo and this was another winner hands down. Again came out hot and packed with flavor. The gumbo came with rice and there was no bad bite with this here. 9.3. The customer service was decent not crazy here.

This was my first time being here and I really loved the food. I got the shrimp etouffee and it was delicious. Although they said that it was supposed to be a spicy dish it actually wasn’t. But very flavorful nonetheless. Service was good and the food came out quickly even with a large party of 11. Looking forward to going back. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that there was no soap in the women’s restroom and I noticed that there is no sign telling employees to wash their hands. I thought that was an OSHA requirement. But otherwise, overall pleasant experience.

This restaurant when dining in mandates you to give automatically, regardless of the quality of customer service one receives, 18% gratuity to the wait staff.

Let me start by saying that I have been going to Dixie Kitchen for several decades. I have been to all the locations: Hyde Park, Evanston, and Lansing. Lansing is the worst!!!!!!!!

Longed for the taste of Dixie Kitchen when it was in Hyde Park (Chicago), was somewhat disappointed. Jerk catfish was EXTREMELY way too salty, collards needed CPR and the Johnny Cakes didn’t taste like they used to. The Peach Cobbler was passable and represented what you get at most establishments, canned peaches underneath a zero flake crust.

I enjoyed my meal. Normally it’s crowded but worth it. It’s kinda dark inside. But it was a good experience

Everything was good. I don’t like that there are no separate checks, a fee to use a credit card, and an automatic 18 percent tip no matter your party size. I will pay exactly what the bill is and not a penny more. It hurts the waiters cause I’m a great tipper.

Ordered smothered pork chops. The worst that I’ve ever had. They were super tough, I put all my strength into cutting them. Seasoning was bland and the gravy was straight trash. I also orders fried catfish, and it wasn’t the least bit fresh. I’m so disappointed. The gumbo was mediocre. The only thing palatable was the fried green tomatoes. I wasted $70.

Had a pick up order of Shrimp, red beans and rice, and macaroni and cheese. I loved that the food wasnt salty. The red beans and rice were absolutely delicious!!! The shrimp was good. The only thing was the macaroni and cheese was a bit bland, but i do prefer a sharper cheddar, but it was good and would eat there for a wonderful meal. Probably one of the best restaurants in the area!!!
