We had an absolutely fantastic evening at the Permit Room in Cambridge. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We began with the aloo tikki chaat, which was bursting with flavour—perfectly balanced, vibrant, and beautifully presented. For mains, we enjoyed the lamb chettinad and the classic Dishoom chicken ruby, paired with fluffy rice and warm, fresh naan. Every dish was rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection.

What truly elevated the experience was the top-tier service. Mihal looked after us brilliantly—attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring guests have a great time. As a lovely finishing touch, he even gifted us a Dishoom/Permit Room key ring, which made the evening feel even more special.

Amazing food, impeccable service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend—can’t wait to return!

Had an amazing time last weekend at Dishoom Permit Room Cambridge. The food was outstanding, especially the chicken puff, spinach chaat, and chilli chips, all absolutely delicious. The chai was also amazing and the perfect way to finish the meal.

The service really made the experience extra special. Pele especially was fantastic, constantly checking in and making sure we were having a great time. We went to celebrate my birthday (the next day), and the staff were incredibly attentive and kind. They surprised me with a Dishoom birthday voucher and even sang Happy Birthday, which was such a lovely touch.

Overall, a wonderful experience with incredible food and truly memorable service. Can’t wait to go back!

Good atmosphere. The food was good, a bit too spicy when we mentioned we wanted just a bit of spice, not too much.
When we did the reservation we mentioned it was our anniversary in the notes, but I guess we shouldn’t have bothered, made no difference.
I was also a bit disappointed about the size of the dessert.

Dishoom Cambridge was absolutely outstanding. The food was incredible—hands down some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. The tandoori chicken was perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and incredibly juicy. The gulab jamun infused with Old Monk was a unique and unforgettable dessert.
Special mention to Tirth, who provided excellent service and gave the best recommendations, making the whole experience even better. Amazing food, great service, and a must-visit spot in Cambridge!

We went to Dishoom as we were passing by hence we didnt get any mains we only ordered some starters. The staff were really nice and the food was great. The only “negative” thing for us was that it was a little too dark inside and it was cold. Also, the brownie was really tasty however it was too small for £8. Will definitely come back for mains

Went here spontaneously on a sunday morning for brunch. The place was packed but they were able to accommodate two. Loved the interior. We had the chocolate chai and the permit room breakfast. It was very filling and the permit room breakfast was basically an english breakfast with south asian spices in it. Loved it!!! The top up of the chai was fab. A very comforting and yummy brunch.

Genuinely such a great experience!! Our server Theja was fantastic. She made great suggestions and was quick to help. Oh, and the food was delicious! The lighting was fairly dim so pls know the food looked and tasted better than it has turned out in these photos.

The food was amazinggggg!!!! Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had! I ordered the naan bites & chicken ruby!! So so good 🙂
Only thing I didn’t love is that the only available seating was on the patio, where it was cold. There are space heaters but not near my table. Luckily my glass of wine & curry kept me warm enough! lol

Maza aagya.
Authentic Indian food chain with proper hygiene and pun in the atmosphere.
Shaheena was very helpful and polite and also suggested some must try items.
I loved the place.
Just a request to a person who handles the music- please play some Bollywood songs 🙂

Had the set menu meat and what an amazing selection! The starters were a bit on the hot side for my very spice sensitive palate but really tasty nonetheless. Mains were incredible, chicken was delicious, very rich dahl and brilliant jackfruit. All in all highly recommend, maybe not quite as good as the Brighton permit rooms but very close.
