Dishoom Glasgow serves Bombay comfort food and first-class drinks, morning ’til late. Inside the café, 1950s Bombay rumbles – a city alive in a newly independent India, its restless reinvention retold on the café walls. Breakfast leisurely on Bacon Naan Rolls, lunch on grilled kebabs and hearty vegetarian dishes, idle over afternoon chai, then dinner on slow-cooked biryanis and rich curries… Indian food that evokes fond memories in a corner of Central Glasgow. Restaurant reservations or walk-ins welcome.

Chai is bottomless, so is the porridge! Really friendly staff. Great options for drinks. They also serve proper freshly squeezed orange juice. Naan rolls and masala beans are amazing!
The food and the service was up there amongst the best places I have visited.
The quirky little twists on old favorites were sometimes very subtle and sometimes left me wondering what I was looking at. All left me with a smile on my face.
Staff attentive and menu savvy, giving me the impression that they had sampled most of the food.
Starters and mains were very, very good, no point in saying anything else and then the chilli ice cream!
Loved the key ring I was given, will be back to roll the dice!
We’ve been Dishoom fans since a legendary breakfast in Edinburgh two years ago, so finding out they’d finally opened in Glasgow was a massive win. No train to Edinburgh required—just a short walk to one of the coolest spots in the city.
The Vibe
From the jump, the space hits that sweet spot: vibrant but delicated. It got this “understated sophisticated” energy, paired with an amazing playlist that sets the mood without overly dramatic. It feels indulgent and special, yet completely unpretentious.
The Food & Service
If you haven’t been to Dishoom yet, you maybe missing out. We’re talking authentic flavors, massive portions, and prices that don’t break the bank.
Our server, Connor, totally leveled up the experience. He was warm, knew the menu inside out, and steered us toward the Glasgow house special: the Haggis Pau. Imagine spiced haggis piled onto a buttery bun with a fried egg and crispy bacon—it was an absolute 10/10 recommendation. We also ordered egg naan roll, wrestler naan rolls and fruit & yogurt. These dishes were delicious and sumptuous that we enjoyed a culinary experience.
The “Bottomless” Bonus
The drink menu is top-tier, but the House Chai is the real MVP. It’s bottomless (yes, really), and the taste is a total nostalgia trip. It reminded me of drinking chai from clay cups in India for 5 rupees—piping hot, spicy, and perfectly sweet. I did miss the “tradition” of smashing the clay cup on the ground afterward, but the flavor was spot on!
The Verdict
Whether it’s a lazy breakfast, a quick lunch, or a big night out, Dishoom Glasgow lives up to the hype. The service is friendly, the decor is stunningly charming and the food is consistently delicious.
The restaurant is beautiful and new to Glasgow, however, this chain is much older and popular. The staff are hand-picked and very helpful and smiling all the time.
The service is quick and the vibe is brilliant. The food quality is excellent almost every dish we had was very tasteful.
Absolutely recommended…!
The drinks menu deserves special praise. The IPA was crisp, well-balanced, and refreshing — an excellent choice alongside the food. The Old Fashioned cocktail was particularly impressive: classic, smooth, and beautifully executed, with just the right depth and restraint. Their cocktails in general feel thoughtfully crafted rather than theatrical, which adds to the sense of quality.
Food was very strong overall. The lamb chettinad was outstanding — deeply aromatic, rich, and layered with spice, clearly the star of the meal. The chilli chicken was equally satisfying, bold and flavourful with a refined heat that didn’t overpower the dish. The butter chicken, while enjoyable, felt slightly less complex compared to the rest of the menu and could benefit from a little more depth to truly match the standard of the other mains.
Service elevated the experience further. Our server, Connor, was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive. His recommendations of the house favourites were spot on, and his relaxed yet professional approach made the evening feel seamless and well-paced.
The location is excellent and easy to access, adding to the restaurant’s appeal for both casual evenings and special occasions. As the venue fills up quickly, booking is definitely recommended, particularly during peak times.
Overall, a refined yet lively dining experience with excellent cocktails, standout dishes, and polished service. A place that feels indulgent without being pretentious — and one we would happily return to.
We went for their breakfast which is fabulous. They have some great vegan options, we tried the Chole Puri and the Vegan Bombay.
The giant puri was amazing and worked so well with chickpea chole. The chole was so flavourful and had a perfect level of spice.
The vegan bombay is great due the variety of different components to the dish. It is an amazing take on the breakfast fry. I particularly enjoyed the scrambled tofu and the vegan buns which are just so delicious.
We also tried the filter coffee which I believe changes from week to week but was also notably good.
Overall this dishoom location lives up to the expectations the brand sets: friendly service, beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. Try it for yourself if you haven’t already!
