WHAT IS DISCO CHICKEN? A gathering space located in the heart of Downtown Rockford serving creative fried chicken sandwiches, tenders and loaded tater tots. We feature one of Rockford’s only rooftop bar and dining room with incredible views of the city and river. Bad Humor Ice Cream and a full bar service including fresh juice canned cocktails and MOCKtails round out the experience. Private dining, catering and delivery available.

The Wizard Chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I’ve had since I can’t remember when. Beats all the chains and most food trucks / other chicken places hands down bar none.
This place is incredible, truly the gem of Rockford. This is chicken done exceptionally well with a bit of new age flair and style.
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Lemonade was noteworthy as well!

Just had my son’s 11th birthday dinner there and he LOVED it. We took advantage of the igloo on the rooftop rental they offer for a very reasonable price. We also opted for their super cute hot chocolate bar. They had blankets, heaters and even a nice Bluetooth speaker for us to connect to for music if we wanted. Food was amazing as always and the birthday donuts were a nice little treat. Our waiter was awesome and my son said it was his favorite birthday dinner so far!

First time here, loved the food. The sauces are very good and they offer a wide variety. House made pickle slices are amazing. Chicken was perfect. Moist, hot, and not overly breaded. Tots are great and well seasoned. Service is friendly and fast! My only issue was with how cold it was inside, but they had apologized for it beforehand and said the heat was on full blast. Will definitely be returning and recommending it to everyone!

We had lunch at Disco Chicken to celebrate my Boyfriend’s birthday today. I’m celiac and struggle to find places to eat where there are any Gluten Free options, never mind deep fried GF options. I was in absolute heaven!! I had The loaded Disco tots and it was SO delicious!!! The disco sauce is to die for and I loved it so much that I wanted to buy some but it’s unfortunately not for sale. Our server, Bella sent me home with two take-out sauce containers though with my left overs. Bella was incredibly friendly, helpful and compassionate regarding my celiac. We had an amazing time and will be back for sure – thank you! Oh and the fun decor was a lovely surprise!

Cons… let’s start there… small, so be sure to get there when not super busy. Summer they have a rooftop seating area, but too cold for blustery winters around here.
Okay Pros… I am not a fried food person, always pulling the breading off… I had no desire to do thst. The chicken tender beyond anything I have had in years and the breading light, flavorful, and not greasy! Who knew? Prices are reasonable. And the drinks …. oh the drinks… fresh and tasty.
Order: kids had the chicken tenders meal with apple slaw, tots, pickles, and sauce (the ranch must be homemade because it was very yummy and I am not a ranch dressing person). I had the hot chicken sandwich and it had just the right amount of heat. No sauce. And a side of elotas. A favorite of mine and they kicked it up a notch. Even better. I am hooked. One kid had the strawberry lavender lemonade, other coffee milk, and I had the disco margaritas.
Go Friday night for drink specials.
We went when the Icehogs had a game (we were unaware) and still got seated quickly, with great service (thank you Bella), and I look forward to going back.

Amazing service! We talked about cats and had great conversations! The food was amazing! I love the disco sauce! Definitely the best chicken I’ve ever tried, they also have a special seasoning that’s good! Also amazing boba especially for the price 10/10

Kaylee was super attentive! She helped us go through the menu, and made sure that we had everything that we needed, before and after our food arrived.
The food itself was so amazing! My husband got the bamboozled, he did up opt for no jalapenos, it was still amazing. I got a classic disco chicken with extra pickles, and those pickles were the best pickles, I have had. They did not skimp on the extra. My friend got the Korean barbecue Chicken Sandwich and she loved it. We also got an order of tater tots and they were probably the best tater tots I have had in a long time.
We will definitely be back, and hopefully we get Kaylee again!!

What a hoot! Or should I say Cluck? Disco Chicken lives up to its name, delivering delicious fried chicken with a side of dance music.
FOOD: amazing flavors, textures, & combinations. A gourmet cook designed this menu, I can tell. The loaded tots had just the right amount of crisp, heat, sauce, & gooiness– and they are so filling! Worked great as a snack for 3 people, the next day just 2 of us tried to finish the platter & we were stuffed for hours.
The chicken is tender & juicy in the inside, flavorful & crispy on the out. This is the basis for most dishes– the sandwiches, loaded tots, & the one salad on the menu were all smothered with a generous amount of breaded chicken breast (all white meat.)
The salad was amazing! Fresh greens (NOT iceburg! Yay!), pickled onions, amazing house dressing, way more chicken I could eat. Was great hours later also as leftovers.
SERVICE: straight up, the best. Full staff, no short-staffing at this joint. Steven the bartender & Hailey/Kaylee (?) the server were especially memorable: friendly, attentive, positive, happy. Everyone that served me was kind, all smiles. Seems like these people love their jobs.
Neat system of ordering — insuring no screwups since it is hard to communicate when the music is bumpin’.
VIBE: so fun! Live DJs all weekend. This was the funnest dance club I have been to in a while– dance club with fried chicken & no dance floor my friends & I pushed a table & made our own dance floor. We spent hours here then came back the next day for many more hours.
Great view of downtown from the roof patio. Decorations are great, especially the hand drawn bathroom wallpaper, made by a 9 y.o. Super cool.
3 levels, accessible by stairs or stickered-up elevator. Beautiful mural on the outside of the building.

I finally checked out Disco Chicken after seeing it all over TikTok, and it did not disappoint! The food was incredible, the service was top-notch, and the drinks were awesome. Plus, the music was fantastic and the vibe was super welcoming. The price can be a bit over priced but I definitely recommend it and can’t wait to go back!
