They addressed the ice cream issue and were extremely nice about it. I appreciate the free cone offer but its not necessary. Thank yall for responding and fixing the issue.

On a long drive up to West Virginia, we stopped here for lunch and a moment to stretch our legs. This place was a crowd-pleaser and super fun!

It’s a little off the beaten path, though you can see the sign from the highway if you squint. There’s a decent amount of parking. This place has been around a long time (the 1950s, iirc) and you can see the ways it has grown over the years. The dining room, bathrooms, and gift shop are all sort of separate outbuildings. There’s a small patio with a couple of metal chairs and tables, which is where we sat and ate; however, seems like call-in and carryout are popular options. You order at the counter in the main building and your order number will be called when your food is ready.

The menu consists of dip dogs (very similar to a corn dog, made with Carolina-style “red” hot dogs and slathered in mustard unless otherwise requested), hot dogs, burgers, simple sandwiches, chicken tenders, and ice cream/milkshakes.

We all wanted to save room for supper so we kept it pretty light; I had a grilled cheese and fries, parents each had a chili dog and split fries, and husband ordered two dip dogs.

This is obviously a family run establishment and we enjoyed seeing all the history through the pictures and tributes to family and community members while we waited. The gentlemen taking our orders were polite and working efficiently. The ladies’ restroom was hot but clean when we visited it before getting back on the road.

Our food was simple and tasty! The fries were super hot and salted nicely and the grilled cheese was so buttery. My parents enjoyed their hot dogs. I tried a bite of a dip dog just to say that I had; I loved the nice light crisp of the breading (not as cakey as your average corn dog). If I got one I’d get it without mustard and dip in ketchup but that’s just because I don’t like mustard lol.

Overall, a fun, tasty, and interesting stop on a long road trip. Give them a try if you’re in the area!

We were traveling to Tennessee through Virginia and wanted a quick bite. We did a search on cheeseburgers and Dip Dog Stand popped up. We decided to find it and give it a go….So so happy we did! My husband got the double cheeseburger with bacon and I got the shrimp dinner.

The burger was perfectly cooked and had home grown tomatoes on it. The shrimp were fried to perfection. The crinkle cut French fries were delicious, hot and not greasy at all. I also got a mocha coffee milkshake that was delicious.

The staff was super friendly. We sat in the restaurant area after we got our food. The photos in the dining area are awesome!

Thanks for a great lunch we will be back!

The dip dogs are good, if you don’t like mustard you better say so because they come out drowned in it. The onion rings are very good with good batter. I give a 4 for service because for whatever reason it was slow. I looked out the window and saw the hatefullest carved bear, he must be having a bad day.

The Dip Dog stand is one of the most iconic places in the region. My wife’s family have been going here since the 80s. Affordable, tasty and my mother in law said it tastes the same from when she was a kid.

We tried out the famous dip and dogs. If it’s like the rest of the world the quality of the food is just gone downhill my first visit pink hot dogs and greasy thin batter. Atmosphere was wonderful great local history. I’m sure if you have gut issues This is not the dip in dog for you, even the mustard I think is a different quality and I like mustard. If it’s along the way, all means they’ve got a wide variety of menu and looks like a lot of desserts but I didn’t want to try anything else we’re moving on. Three dogs and a Coke almost $14.

Great place for some shakes and an awesome dip dog! Stop by, for real.

In the back of the parking lot they have an awesome little place where you can sit down and enjoy your ice cream.

I know this place is very nostalgic to the region and I love that about it… and my husband loves their burgers and of course their dip dogs…I on the other hand am not a fan. The food is just too greasy and not much flavor but grease…. And their just not my cup of tea…Sorry.

This is a most delicious hole in the wall place. Definitely get a dip dog while you are there, but any food you eat there will be delicious. Will definitely return 10/10 recommend.
