Best crab cakes !!! I could have eaten them for my meal. They are fresh, lots of crab and great texture. The roasted beet salad with fresh goat cheese candied pecans and sherry vinaigrette was super tasty. Real butter for some warm rolls. Clam chowder was spot on. Lots of parking. Service was knowledgeable and friendly.

I reeeeeeeally wanted to love this local place but aside from some very delicious clam chowder, the rest of the meal was a total disappointment. The Mussels were tiny & super sandy. I ordered the Stuffed Haddock which was supposed to be with a seafood & Ritz cracker stuffing and a lobster cream sauce but was only ritz cracker with a cream sauce. Totally bland, no seasoning whatsoever, with unseasoned mashed potatoes. Totally flavorless & completely disappointing. Our server, Melissa, was an absolute joy, great personality & 100% efficient.

This rating is for the Bratskeller pub which is attached to the Dinnerhorn and can share a menu.

I’m rating the Bratskellar highly, not because it’s outstanding, gourmet, or ‘fancy’ in any way, but because it’ always a good, fresh and a steady staple. Tasty and consistent! I nearly always get their chicken parm sub & my husband nearly always gets their meatball sub. I’m not sure where the rolls are from, but they are always fresh and have a strong ‘Fantini’ vibe. The pricing for food and drink is very fair and reasonable, (cheap by today’s Portsmouth standards). I’ve been going since I was a child in the 1970’s, and will continue to frequent the Bratskeller for as long as possible!

Atmosphere – truthfully, ,’she’s not a looker’! But, ‘atmosphere’ is much more than decor. The Bratskellar is the epitome of a local watering hole! Many gather here to meet up with friends, or to just to watch a game (Sox, B’s or Pats of course). If you want a great taste of the New Hampshire seacoast, with a truly authentic local vibe, people and personalities, this is it! Skip the phony, new, trendy vibe in downtown Portsmouth – this is where you totally need to be! And, you will be back! So go on, spring for the rideshare, you won’t regret it!

I’ve been coming to the Dinnerhore since I was a child, I’m now in my sixties I absolutely lover your pizza, so last night I got my pizza as usual and it was amazing, occasionally I like to get an appetizer with my pizza so I ordered the crab cakes, I was so disappointed the worst crabs cakes ever!!! They were just a giant ball of bread crumbs hardly any crab in it and the taste was so bland because of the lack of crab, the sauce it came with it was amazing, if you’re going charge that much money you really should make sure you put crab meat in it!!!!

My daughter and I chose the Dinnerhorn because we wanted a local restaurant with seafood and not a chain. We arrived and the parking lot was packed. We almost left thinking the wait would be too long. We were seated right away with no wait. The dining room had several empty tables. The service was good and the food was amazing. I had the baked stuffed lobster and she had the jumbo stuffed shrimp. The portions were good and everything tasted great. We highly recommend the Dinnerhorn!

Have been here a few times, this time for lunch.

Extremely busy for Thursday lunch, our waitress did the best she could keeping up.

Front host seemed a little on edge and unfriendly.

They have some really awesome homemade dressings, try em with the side salad or fries.

Coleslaw was run of the mill, surely needed salt and pepper to jazz it up.

Homemade tarter sauce, chunky and a good mix of sweet relish in it.

Food came out hot, smidgen of a wait, little gritty on the whole belly clams and some flour chunks in the chowder. Might have been an off day for them, previous meals have always been spot on.

A little on the pricey side, to be expected for thr type of dishes served. A huge bar available and what looks to be a decent Bloody Mary based on other tables orders.

Wow! Took the hubs to dinner but they were closed. How about the Dinner horn I said. It’s been years! Why oh why have we not been coming here????
The portions were generous and the prices were comparable, but for what we got, they far surpass others! Decent sized shrimp plate for the hubs… He was stuffed! My haddock was straight out of the pond! So fresh and delicious! I can always tell when I am being duped with pollock or recently sanitized old fish. This was soooo good! And let me tell you about the tartar sauce…. I tasted that first. Yowza! It was phenomenal. You can bet we’ll be back, again and again!!!

Me and my wife went for the first time on Saturday. We went to Warren’s prior and left because waitress never came not the case here. The wait staff were incredibly welcoming and the food was fantastic. Don’t know why we never went in the past. Can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful food!!! This is one of the few restaurants where any food genre is created and presented exquisitely. Order German fare and you’re in Stuttgart; Italian, Bologna; Greek, Athens; Steak, Kansas City; Seafood, well, coastal New Hampshire, of course.

Are you in the mood for quick lunch fare? The fried chicken is unmatched, even by chicken specialty restaurants.

ALWAYS inquire about their specials. At this establishment the specials are really special–and delicious and well portioned.

There is a well-placed handicap spot. It is on the salt marsh side, so during heavy rains and high tide that area does flood onto the tarmac. In that case, simply park on the street side and wheel to the entrance.

You can also take-out without concern that the quality will suffer. I can honestly testify that their take-out is much better than most dine-in restaurants.

I hate divulging this extraordinary eatery, but I know you’ll hear about it sooner or later. Bon appetit.
