That Girl
This place has been a go-to for me for years. But, over time, I’ve seen less staff, less customers, and ultimately, a terrible experience.
Recently, I was one of three customers in the diner. Nobody came to take my order for fifteen minutes. I had to flag someone down.
The hostess was having a loud conversation with other staff members about people’s weight?? Then she was blasting videos from her phone.
No one ever checked on me ever again, not even to refill my coffee (this only happened once, when they brought out my food.) I had wanted to order one of their shakes, and never got to. When I told the host this, she seemed pretty unconcerned.
I will not be back.
Shame. Another one bites the dust. LB is quickly becoming a food desert.

Small spot on Long Beach who’s main attraction is their shakes. While I enjoyed the shakes, I felt the rest of the food was very mediocre. Spinach pie was delicious though. They also have a sign that says best turkey burger and to me it was very tough and dry. My milkshake seemed to lack all of the colors of my boyfriend’s shake and so it seemed lackluster to me. Overall, I’ve had better diner food but the person who seated us (didn’t catch her name) was polite and pleasant.

Good, reasonable diner. Very casual. Burgers were good, especially the patty melt. Milkshake was a nice treat. They have many flavors and options. One of the best options in this area.

My girlfriend and I were near the area and were hungry. She mentioned this place had great milkshakes. We decided to give this local spot a try. We ordered our food. My chicken noodle soup came and it was not good. It was very small and You can tell it sits out all day and was reheated. My buffalo chicken salad came and it was obvious it was frozen chicken. The salad had no flavor. My girlfriends wrap wasn’t the best either. The milkshakes were delicious. That was basically our entire meal. Once it came to pay we were shocked at how much the bill was. $75 for a soup, 2 wraps, and 2 milkshakes. We will not be coming back

Classic diner with large menu, good coffee and tasty food. Milkshakes look amazing (albeit I didn’t have one) and the breakfast foods were great

There is another diner in Long Beach that gets lots of attention but for so many of us locals we know that the best diner here is this one. Yes, it’s a little bit smaller than that other one but guess what? So are the prices. I find that the menu items are anywhere from $2-5 cheaper.
Besides that, the wait staff is ALWAYS friendly and your order will be served quickly.
Lastly the manager Caterina always makes my day with her sweet smile and charm.
Highly recommended!

Just a heads up—watch out for the tiny footnote pricing on the menu. I went in for breakfast and was surprised by how much higher my bill was than expected. When I asked the cashier about it, she was dismissive, rolled her eyes, and acted like it was totally normal to hide price changes in footnotes instead of listing them next to the items. It’s frustrating because I really do like supporting local spots, but they need to be more upfront. I will say the pancakes were great, but the way I was treated by the staff completely turned me off from going back.
