Julie is waiting on us.
Quite something to watch the organized chaos of the kitchen.
Ordered hot black coffee, jasmine green tea, the duck bop hash, upgrade to biscuit, Rueben omelet, English muffin and side of truffle mayo, 2 side chicken sausage, side house salad and side of chive cream cheese. $65.19
The duck was rather gamey, there was something in this dish that made it overly sweet about this dish that didn’t sit well for me.
Expected savory and maybe slightly spicy, it wasn’t. I only ate a couple of bites and couldn’t get over the gamey and sweetness of this dish.
My hubby ended up eating the rest of it.
Side salad was fine, lettuce and cucumbers were fresh. I did find a random stowaway chocolate chip at the bottom of my bowl that didn’t belong.
The chicken sausage is good, not dry and perfectly cooked.
Their homemade biscuits are quite good, big, had a nice crunchy crust from the griddle. Even better with their house strawberry jam.
They don’t have any flavored creamers at all.
The Reuben omelet was good, some kraut in it, not a lot of corn beef, but enough.
The chive cream cheese is good.
Service was good.
First thing noticed upon entering was a large copper coffee maker and as your eyes followed the room divider with snake plants and at the end was a large mural of a dime.
Sat down and very quickly our server Amber took our drink order, coffee ☕ and water.
The menu was very extensive, so it took us awhile to decide on what we wanted. We finally decided what to order and placed our order and in no time we were served and our coffees refilled.
Dime Store also sells their coffee cups for $10, so we purchased one.
Overall, we all were very happy with our food and had leftovers. We requested a to go box and were thrilled to learn that they also care for the environment by providing non-foam PFAS-free containers. (Thank you to the owners/management for making this thoughtful and responsible decision!)
We will definitely be coming back for more delicious food.
I ordered a veggie omelet and asked to add ham, it came with potatoes and requested to change it for a homemade biscuit, I don’t know what oil they use but it wasn’t the best omelet I ever had.
The coffee was so strong and later on the day my stomach was hurting.
One thing the service was outstanding, she was super friendly and patient with our group! Definitely hard to find nowadays.
The restaurant shares space with the Papa Joe’s gourmet supermarket with a tall half wall. The ceiling is high and airy.
Our server was very attentive and sensed our needs very well even before we ask for anything. It was a happy brunch for my family.
Unlike the Detroit location, this location takes reservation.
I had the pleasure of being served by Kelsey at The Dime Store in Rochester Hills not too long ago, and she absolutely made my visit special. She’s incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing, and her warm smile and upbeat energy instantly make you feel welcome. Kelsey knows the menu inside out and gave great recommendations that hit the spot. She truly goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about her guests. She’s one of those rare people who makes a good restaurant experience unforgettable.
