Place was recommended by an acquaintance as he was proud to let me know there was a Gambian restaurant in the area. Really enjoyed the jollof! Lots of seasoning not too spicy (I like spicy food so maybe it’s spicy for someone who doesn’t often eat spicy or spice-ful lol). They were kind to me and my dad and very proud of their Jollof trophy from this year haha. I liked the portions and flavors of everything. I do agree with one of the comments about maybe the place getting better ventilation, if not at least have the smell be of seasoned meat and not burnt oil. There’s not a lot of African eateries so let’s continue to support them so they can continue to be a wonderful member of our culinary community 🙂

This was the first visit for me & my partner. We tried their meat pies @ the Bite of Seattle and they were delicious so we thought we would visit the restaurant to try other dishes. We both ordered the meat pies and the red jollof rice with chicken. The meat pies weren’t bad but they were better @ the bite of Seattle with the dipping sauce. The jollof rice and chicken was not very good. The rice tasted burnt and the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way ! They did give us a refund for the main entrees but I had higher hopes the food would have tasted better. I don’t think we’ll return.

This was my first time dining here. I came with my friend for lunch. The interior was beautiful, the colors of the seats and paintings popped, the tables were clean, the service was warm, the food was hearty and clearly cooked with a desire to nourish, not just feed.
Overall a wonderful experience. If only I lived in the area, I would return many times to explore the rest of the menu.

First time trying African food and it was amazing! Great flavors – the chicken afra was super flavorful and plantains were amazing! We tried egusi soup and fufu which came out super nice and hot!

This was my first time trying and so glad it was a great experience. The selection was good I looked at their menu online to see photos of what I was ordering and the food came out looking exactly like what was pictured. The flavor was rich and I liked how each dish came with a small salad. I got the lamb Dibi with plantain and a side of jollof rice (not pictured) and my friend and I split the meat and shrimp pies. Everything was seasoned well and just delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. The ambiance is nice it’s quaint with beautiful artwork placed about. The restaurant was not very crowded, but there were tons of to go orders going out. My friend really enjoyed her food as well. We will be back for sure. Happy to support!

Not the best picture because I ate it all immediately lol!! Food was AMAZING I am a West African foodie and have tried many different restaurants. Good sized portion. The lady at the front was friendly. The okra stew is amazing. I only get fufu as my swallow. Would recommend this place! Only thing was they only had certain soups for the day which I understand as it’s a lot of preparation. It was a 15 min wait but I don’t mind as this isn’t fast food lol. Next time I want to try the cow foot soup and the oxtail stew!

This African restaurant is definitely worth a visit for its flavorful dishes. The Chicken Yassa was satisfying (8/10) because my wife loved it and I had a taste which made me want to try it and the Fried Rice (Jollof) with Lamb Dibi was outstanding (9/10). The Fried Rice with Fish was good (7/10), though the seasoning wasn’t quite to my taste. Both the Wonjo and Baobab drinks were refreshing and delicious (9/10 each). Overall, a great spot for authentic flavors.

I came across this restaurant a few weeks ago on doordash and it quickly became my favorite restaurant. I have had the lamb dibi a few times every week since. I don’t know how the marinate it, but it is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it! I also tried the baobab drink and it was great!! I will definitely be coming back!!!
