The tofu Bánh mì is delicious (get the jalapeños and sriracha!) and portion size is HUGE. 1/2 is basically the size of a normal full size sandwich. The green papaya salad was also bangin’ but I forgot to take a photo. The atmosphere of the place is extremely pleasant – so cozy and really a nice aesthetic. This is a different Bánh mì than any I’ve ever had before, and though it’s not quite authentic/traditional in taste or style, it’s unique and delicious anyway.

My favorite banh mi spot on NYC. My go-to order is the tofu banh mi with a little sriracha — perfect balance of acid, salt, and fat. The herby sauce on it is absolutely unreal! I live nearby and it takes a lot of self control not to come here everyday….
The staff is lovely and super friendly. This place knows what it’s doing and deserves more attention!!

My favorite banh mi spot! Perfect bread consistency, amazing flavor, fresh ingredients. The portions are generous and so worth the price!

Absolutely blown away by this banh mi. If you go on Sunday, they have a special one only available on Sunday, GET it. I got it not spicy without pate. Absolutely incredible. Great friendly service too, sandwich was worth the wait.

I almost tried everything on the menu in one sitting! The owners Jon & Chi are super friendly. Gabby makes an awesome egg coffee.
The bhanmi had the perfect salty sweet and spicy combo, the bread is fresh as well so you get a good crunch from the bread and the veggies.

A welcome addition to the neighborhood! Coffee was great. We enjoyed the Beef Bahn Mi and the Papaya Salad. Ingredients were so fresh and the Bahn Mi has a perfect bun, so delicious! The gelato is divine, we loved the lemon and coconut flavors!!!

The couple who own and manage the restaurant are so lovely and kind. The food is largely inspired by the wife’s family, who are Vietnamese. This is the BEST banh mi I’ve had in NYC in 9 years of living here! And I’ve had proper banh mi’s in Vietnam… the banh mi’s at Diem taste like the authentic, real-deal! The bread was soft and crispy, with a touch of buttery savoriness, and lots of fresh chicken and veggies inside. The portion size of the sandwich was also impressively large. 10/10!
The Viet Milk Coffee is a gem! It obviously has the traditional condensed milk in it, but it’s not overly sweet, which I appreciate. A good balance of richness and flavorful espresso bean.
The owner encouraged me to try a free sample of the gelato. They rotate their flavors every week, with mango-flavor being the only constant. They always keep a vegan and sorbet option in the rotation also.
The restroom is the cutest freakin’ bathroom in Brooklyn. The restroom is through a hidden arched doorway in the bookcase. And the restroom is spotlessly clean and well decorated. It’s like a magical cozy place.
And yes, they have free wifi!

Diem Eatery offers delicious banh mis and noodle dishes that are perfect for both lunch and dinner. I especially loved the turmeric fish noodles. The texture of the noodles and fish was spot on, and the unique flavors were a pleasant surprise. It’s the perfect fresh comfort food at a very reasonable price.
