It’s official I don’t like this place.

I ordered a two plate combo of spare ribs and brisket. First of all the brisket came out like a shredded beef crumbs or something no slices of brisket. Who does that? It came out with a piece of fresh baked bread that dense like a brick and very unappealing.

This is my second time trying Dickies as I tried it in Hawaii also it was disappointed but I can clearly see it’s not a location thing it’s their chain.

I say stay away from chain barbecue places because quite frankly they don’t get it. Maybe when the first one opened up they probably were filled with passion and motivation to provide a great product but chains typically screw that up, as most of management and staff don’t care and don’t have the same vision. (My opinion)

Wasted money.

PS I read some of the other reviews after I posted this and I noticed the owner replies to a lot of reviews and literally has audacity to tell them that they are wrong or not writing being truthful. Weird that there’s so many negative comments but the owner denies those comments with some type of denial. Owners and managers can learn a lot from their customers comments and complaints and take those as opportunities to improve not to defend their current way of doing business. That’s why a lot of companies go out of business because they think they know better than the guys that are paying their bills.

Reminder just in case there’s any confusion: Customers pay the bills.

Dickey’s BBQ review, this is the worst Dickey’s location/establishment I have ever experienced. Horrible management! Ordered 1/2 lb of sliced brisket for my family and received chopped. I returned to have the restaurant fix and the manager acted like it was a problem because I asked them to fix and they in turn gave me 1 slice of brisket and it was hard and dry and they said I could weigh it. (see photos) It wasn’t about the weight, it was about getting sliced brisket for my family, fresh and warm. The entire order in addition to the brisket order was disgusting, not warm, not very much food for the price and family style. Manager refused to correct anything but the 1 slice of dry brisket which was his make up for the chopped brisket, a 1/2 lb sliced dry piece of brisket. Missing sides and what we did get was cold and not tasty. We are from Texas and used to love this place. If you want to eat sub par BBQ food that you didn’t order and have your family not eat what you paid for, or the management correct the order take a trip to the Fair Oaks Dickey’s.Check out the photos and oh by the way the okra order is a large. Usually a large order of Orka, the container is full, crispy and warm. My son ordered a small side of okra for himself for later and his order had more Okra than the large. My family works hard for the money we spend on food, we should get what we order and what we pay for! Everyone that works hard for their money and enjoys eating out should understand this review, this is so sad that people and some businesses in this area operate like this.
If you want to eat quality BBQ and receive what you ordered go to Mission BBQ. The service and staff care about your experience and the food is delicious. Don’t go to Dickey’s FAIR OAKS, Fairfax, VA. Horrible food, poor service/customer support and embarrassing management. Don’t let your kids work here, the manager will not appreciate them and not teach them how to be a hospitality professional. For the record, we ordered BBQ sliced chicken, spicy sausage, 1 dry rib (you don’t get enough for the amount you pay) pulled pork and 1/2 lb sliced brisket, texas toast (never received that, FALSE ADVERTISEMENT) Food was cold, sliced chicken had no sauce, sausage was dry. #BOYCOTTDICKEYSFAIROAKSMALL

I should have read the reviews. My UBER order was a ripoff. Got tiny portions, which is to be expected when you order delivery. But the brisket was dry and the opposite of fresh. The chicken also tasted bad. Also, part of my portion included a massive piece of cold slimy chicken skin which looked like a piece of chicken. Also got a huge slab of fat. Bad, portions, bad cuts of meat, and food that is dry and the opposite of fresh.

I was here in Virginia for a training and decided to go at Fairfax Mall for food. I went to Dickey’s chain as it was recommended. I wished I had not come to this chain restaurant. Food was below, I mean really below average! I did not expect a food chain to serve me DRY BRISKET! A portion of it was probably cooked last night and the other was from yesterday. You can see it clearly from the shades of the slices. Terrible! I will never recommend this chain to anyone.

Stopped by the new Dickie’s BBQ in Herndon today for a quick lunch and really, really enjoyed my meal! Wings were juicy and delicious! Kelvin, the manager, asked what kind of sauce I wanted on them and I said I preferred them without any. At that point he suggested sprinkling them with something he called “Fufu powder”and let me taste it prior to adding it. Salty and garlicky! It was just perfect on those wings! They also offered fried okra as one of their sides, which I was excited about. It was very tender and seasoned really well. My husband got the brisket sandwich with loaded mashed potatoes and gobbled it up so fast I couldn’t get a picture.
Kelvin and his crew are a friendly, hard working group that are passionately eager to serve a great meal to its patrons. Go give them a try! Located in the old Kmart shopping center in Herndon.

FYI, this review is for Dickey’s in Fair Oaks Mall.
Ordered 2 sandwiches with sides to go and the order receipt showed it but they made it for dine in. Mistakes can happen. No gripe here.
After bring the order home, the sides were not what I had ordered. Again, mistakes can happen. The manager seemed lacking expefence and the staff ill-trained. A little agitated but understandable. I’ve owned and operated restaurants of my own so I tend to give benefit of doubt.
But when I saw mold on the bun, that is inexcusable. That means the management and the staff do not know how to properly store and handle food. If they are serving moldy bread, I wonder how safe is their food overall. It wasn’t worth the effort and the time to go back to the mall so just threw out the sandwich and rest of the food. Could not trust the food.

The customer service level is posted by the cash register, go to the other store nearby, not the mall. Food was ok, but nothing was hot, incredibly slow and just ok tasting vs. the Texas stores. The water cup was ridiculous and restrooms closed since COVID.

The absolute worst customer service ever. In the pic is a 2 meat combo. This is clearly not enough compared to other Dickeys locations. The bread was like a brick and need less to say after reporting this issue to the corporate office on the Dickeys website. The manager Jose ran up on me in a threatening manner and shouted this is not true with customer in the location. This guy is unprofessional and stay away from this place. As you can see with the other reviews this place has alot of issues food issue such as portion size and mold. I will be sending a email to the CEO to see if location contacted about this issues.

I ordered the meat plate of pulled pork, creamed spinach and jalapeno beans and my wife ordered a 1lb of beef brisket. What I got was a pulled pork sandwich. Ok no big deal. Unfortunately it was pretty much down hill from there. The sandwich was good enough but not worth going back for. The beans tasted like they opened a can from walmart and added a little hot sauce to it. The spinach was probably the best part of the meal. I didn’t end up eating most of my meal. My wife’s brisket on the other hand came out smelling like fresh dog poop, literally. I kept ask her what that smell was. She took about three bites and threw it away. What a waste of $28.
