I ordered a two plate combo of spare ribs and brisket. First of all the brisket came out like a shredded beef crumbs or something no slices of brisket. Who does that? It came out with a piece of fresh baked bread that dense like a brick and very unappealing.
This is my second time trying Dickies as I tried it in Hawaii also it was disappointed but I can clearly see it’s not a location thing it’s their chain.
I say stay away from chain barbecue places because quite frankly they don’t get it. Maybe when the first one opened up they probably were filled with passion and motivation to provide a great product but chains typically screw that up, as most of management and staff don’t care and don’t have the same vision. (My opinion)
Wasted money.
PS I read some of the other reviews after I posted this and I noticed the owner replies to a lot of reviews and literally has audacity to tell them that they are wrong or not writing being truthful. Weird that there’s so many negative comments but the owner denies those comments with some type of denial. Owners and managers can learn a lot from their customers comments and complaints and take those as opportunities to improve not to defend their current way of doing business. That’s why a lot of companies go out of business because they think they know better than the guys that are paying their bills.
Reminder just in case there’s any confusion: Customers pay the bills.
If you want to eat quality BBQ and receive what you ordered go to Mission BBQ. The service and staff care about your experience and the food is delicious. Don’t go to Dickey’s FAIR OAKS, Fairfax, VA. Horrible food, poor service/customer support and embarrassing management. Don’t let your kids work here, the manager will not appreciate them and not teach them how to be a hospitality professional. For the record, we ordered BBQ sliced chicken, spicy sausage, 1 dry rib (you don’t get enough for the amount you pay) pulled pork and 1/2 lb sliced brisket, texas toast (never received that, FALSE ADVERTISEMENT) Food was cold, sliced chicken had no sauce, sausage was dry. #BOYCOTTDICKEYSFAIROAKSMALL
Kelvin and his crew are a friendly, hard working group that are passionately eager to serve a great meal to its patrons. Go give them a try! Located in the old Kmart shopping center in Herndon.
Ordered 2 sandwiches with sides to go and the order receipt showed it but they made it for dine in. Mistakes can happen. No gripe here.
After bring the order home, the sides were not what I had ordered. Again, mistakes can happen. The manager seemed lacking expefence and the staff ill-trained. A little agitated but understandable. I’ve owned and operated restaurants of my own so I tend to give benefit of doubt.
But when I saw mold on the bun, that is inexcusable. That means the management and the staff do not know how to properly store and handle food. If they are serving moldy bread, I wonder how safe is their food overall. It wasn’t worth the effort and the time to go back to the mall so just threw out the sandwich and rest of the food. Could not trust the food.
