Old review from about 8 months b4 today
*The place was so smokey that we are having a hard time the next day ! Breathing !
And there was black bits in ALL the food!
But place was clean and brisket was ok…a little tough…
Not the turkey….idk what was wrong but it was bad!
I can’t get over the black bits in my coleslaw…bummer
I have been to Dickey’s all over this country and this is the worst one.I’ve ever had black burnt bits in my coleslaw
—When Dickey’s first opened here in Clovis, I was reluctant to try yet another shoe-leather attempt at smoking-a-brisket establishment here in Clovis and it took awhile before I tried it – and was very pleasantly surprised – they did it right! Greasy, juicy brisket that stayed moist! Made several trips purchasing 1lb containers full of deliciousness.
—When they changed locations (from Prince St to Red Arrow), I asked the guy prepping the orders if anything but location had changed and he said no. I then asked for my usual (keep all the fat – hold the sauce) 1lb container of brisket and another 1lb of sausage. Paid the usual price (and added a tip), got it home and discovered 1lb pound of sliced shoe leather which my dogs, over the next week or so, will enjoy (they have no refined discernment or taste).
—Don’t know if the brisket was old (fat all drained away), cooked improperly or just what the problem was but I am looking once again for somebody that knows how to cook/smoke a juicy brisket in Clovis, NM.
