I recently visited Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and had a truly wonderful experience!
From the moment we walked in, the owners were incredibly warm and welcoming. Their genuine care for their customers really shines through, making the entire visit feel personal and inviting. They are clearly working hard to ensure everyone has a great time, and it truly enhanced our meal.
The barbecue was definitely yummy and satisfying. We enjoyed everything we ordered it was solid, authentic BBQ that hit the spot perfectly. For families, a huge bonus is that my child ate for free with an adult meal(on Sunday), which is fantastic value and a great perk.
If you’re looking for a spot with delicious, satisfying food and genuinely welcoming hospitality, I highly recommend stopping by Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. You won’t be disappointed by the effort and heart the owners put into this new ownership restaurant!

The service was very good. Lady working had a great attitude, even though she was working alone and had several customers. Very friendly with the best customer service. Unfortunately the food wasn’t so great. I ordered 2 meat plate and it came with 2 sides. I selected 2 servings of sliced brisket, potato salad and bbq beans. The meat was too salty and you could tell it was a cheap grade of meat. The potato salad was very bland even though it had what appeared to be peppers & pickles. No flavor at all. And the beans were the worst. Once again you could tell they used a cheap brand and they did nothing to add flavor. Just opened can and served. I couldn’t even eat them they were so nasty. Very disappointed that I wasted money on this.

We ate at the Dickey’s BBQ on May Avenue in OKC (7800 N May Ave) last night and everything was absolutely delicious! I especially loved the fried okra and the jalapeño cheddar sausage — so flavorful. The smoked turkey was amazing, and the ribs and brisket were tender and full of that great smoky taste. The beans and mac & cheese were also really good.
Prices felt very reasonable for the quality of the food, and the staff were so pleasant and helpful from start to finish. Even the bathrooms were clean and well kept, which I always appreciate.
Highly recommend this location — we’ll definitely be back!

Restaurant offered plenty of seating, staff were friendly and greeted me when I walked in. There were a lot of options for classic barbecue meats.

Our family recently was craving some BBQ and decided to try Dickies. When we walked in the smell was so fantastic my mouth started watering I couldn’t wait to dig in! The young lady at the counter I think her name was Tie? She was very sweet and told us all about what we should try and how much we should order for our family! The pulled pork sandwiches and fries were a major hit with my kids! They absolutely loved every bite and my kids are so picky when it comes to their fries lol the atmosphere was very family oriented and warm and inviting! The restrooms were clean and fresh and all in all it was the best family night we have had in a long time! The young lady and other worker were very sweet and attentive asking us if we needed anything making my kids feel special and even getting a smile out of my grouchy husband! Which is usually impossible unless it involves sports!
Thank you Dickies BBQ for having the very best freshest food we have had in a very long time! Mondays is our family night and we go out every Monday and will definitely be making Dickies one of our regular favorites on our bulletin board at home! The kids already want BBQ for Christmas BBQ for breakfast BBQ EVERYDAY! lol that should tell you all ALOT!

If you want a good quality, mom and pop restaurant feel, with a customer focused approach. This is the place to go. Owners Greg and Dawn made sure everything was perfect and their entire team was thorough, kind and professional.

I am writing about the Dickey’s at 7800 N May. I had the pleasure to meet Mrs. Ryan. I have ordered 3 times. Every time they have went out of their way to please the customer rather it be a extra gravy or something else. I think they are doing a little more to make up for bad service/cheapness from former owners or managers. I feel a very positive vibe from these people and not just filling my stomach with food. The slaw taste better, The Texas toast is really flakey, potato casserole taste 1.5x cheesier, pickles are in a real portion bowl INSTEAD OF A BAG…EWWW (NO PICKELS IN BAGS that always got on my nerves) and the chicken was crispy. Everything is always moist (sorry) but well done. I have not gotten sick once and the ribs ate still pink. I haven’t gotten a food high like this since Thanksgiving 10-15 years ago. They put the fries under the food. I just had McDonald’s yesterday. I like Dickey’s fries much better. Half of McDonald’s were like toothpicks. Dickey’s is now my go to. May The Ryan’s be blessed!

I ordered the slider combo. Just enough food for lunch, without spending $20+. I was unsure what sauce I wanted so the owner gave me samples to try- I like the original. Sweet with some spice, but not too much spice. The potato salad was very good- like the kind grandma makes. They have a lot of different side options. It’s a little tough to get in and out on the busy road, but worth it. My kids are grown, but I noticed kids eat free on Sunday per transaction. I will be going back for more.
