Walking into a big name franchise like this you want the best experience possible. When I first walked in my first impression was that there was only one employee. The thing about this employee(will) you would have thought was an owner or even manager. He was moving fast but deliberate. Taking care of Togo orders as well as those of us coming in. This man is something more than just an average employee, this is someone I would put into a big role. It’s a Tuesday night and truly if it wasn’t for this man money wouldn’t be made for this place tonight. I want to give this man a huge shoutout and hope this gets to the proper management as this man is the true reason I will be back. To run a bbq place by your self as well as insuring the food is top notch Is amazing. He maintained proper food safety by wearing gloves and removing them when checking us out. All around great job will and truly man you need to be more than just a base level employee you deserve the keys to the building.

I like dickeys food pretty well. Today the food was good. What I was able to get that is. I walk in at 11am and the menu TVs were empty it on. The fella behind the counter acted irritated that someone was here. He immediately said man we ain’t even got anything ready, what you want. I told him about the TVs and he asked me to turn them on. No biggie. People get behind on things. I’ve been there. But the attitude wasn’t necessary. I asked what they had ready and he told me about everything they didn’t have. He was the only one here at the time. So I asked for a sandwich and fries. Oh man, someone broke the fry cutter. So basically they dropped the ball on getting the day started. Oh yeah, the ice cream machine is still broke. Been that way for a while now and didn’t have any desserts to substitute like usual. McDonald’s is a little cheaper and I get about the same service. Just saying.

I am not sure what the complaints are about??

The staff was extremely helpful, patient and kind. They opened a pack of coupons and provided them to me which was for a free meal with my purchase. The restaurant is clean. They have a variety of games to play while you sit and eat in the well decorated establishment. It smells awesome inside and my food was delicious!!!

People are a bunch of babies…OH…..they even gave me a free brownie!!!

Quickly after walking in, I told my husband I was very grossed out by the place and felt like I wanted to leave. We placed an order for lunch against my better judgment. First thing, you have to order over a wall that is literally 5 1/2 feet tall. I’m not that tall, and the lady taking my order is shorter than me. I could even see her to know she was there to order our food. I had to stand on my tippy toes and then I could barely see the top of her head. Next, we went to the bathroom to wash our hands and they were DISGUSTING. Along with zero soap in both men’s and women’s. I asked for soap and the cashier said I’ll find you some. She searched around for several minutes and finally came out with some. How have they been washing their hands??? They advertised the pink plastic cups for Brest cancer month so we asked for those. She said “ours hasn’t come in yet”. Today is 10/11/25. Not sure when they’re planning to get those if half the month is gone already? They couldn’t provide the yellow cups because they had no lids. They gave us styrofoam cups instead. Go to fill my cup up at drink station, coke zero completely flat and gross!! Dumped it out, go to refill the ice. No ice. Had to bring it back to cashier to get more ice and told her the code zero was completely flat and asked if she could fill the cup up with their machine at the counter. She said it wasn’t connected. I then filled it with Diet Coke. Same thing, super gross and flat. I then got sweet tea although I was super grossed out and very nervous there would be bugs or mildew or something in the tea because the lids to the teas were half way on. The tea “tasted” fine. I also noticed there’s no trash cans under the condiment counter. They’re using cardboard boxes as trash cans with no trash bag or anything. I got the brisket plate and the brisket was cold. The sides were good. The toast had no butter. It was just white bread toasted. Also the floors were super dirty behind the counter and the lady making the food – her chest “sat” on the cutting board where she was chopping up the meat. Will never ever go back! We’re praying we don’t get food poisoning. I’ve never been more grossed out by a place in my life! They need to shut down or whoever is over this location needs to be fired asap.

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!
Ordered two baked potatoes at 8pm thru UberEats. Restaurant closes at 9pm.
Got in 8:20pm for pick up and was told they were out. You could clearly see they were already done cleaning the place up ready to close and just didn’t wanted to make them.
I mean its fine it happens i wouldn’t have been upset about that but….
At 21:49 (49 minutes after closing time) instead of canceling my order they marked it as completed. Never received my order or money back for it!
Definitely DO NOT RDER ANYTHING ONLINE FROM THIS LOCATION IF YOU WANT YOUR FOOD OR MONEY BACK!

We went in and picked up food to go. It was delicious. They got the order correct and the pork sandwich and meat combo was really good. So were the sides. There was only one guy working and he was busting his butt. We will be regulars. Glad to have delicious BBQ in Slidell again.

My friend ordered from this awful place and when she went to pick up her order she was not even greeted but told that her order was “one of those there”. After picking up her order, she noticed that it was completely wrong. She called and explained the situation and was promised a refund that would hit her account in 2-3 days. The lady she spoke with was suppose to send a text message to her confirming this. A few hours passed with no confirmation and she calls again only to be told by the same lady that there would no refund. Because the manager denied it. IF she even spoke with the manager. The lady gave no reason as to why the refund was denied and even said “I didn’t know I was suppose to call you back to let you know”. Overall, terrible place, horrible customer service, and never going there again. And I’ll make sure to spread the word.

Wonderful brisket! Plus one night I asked for just Brisket because I was taking my dog on a picnic & to please not be insulted. Well, the server filled an entire plate/box with burnt ends, fat and crude pieces he can’t sell! He was awesome!

Man this place is awful. I went today about 30 minutes ago and left before even ordering. The guy working was sweaty, not wearing a hat/hair net, and had filthy clothes on. As he was coming to greet me, he wiped the sweat off his face with a paper towel, fixed his drenched hair with his bare hands, and reached for the gloves.

I asked him “Hey man would you mind washing your hands?” and he said “I’m putting on gloves, does it really matter?”

Yes. It matters. Your sweaty hands are grabbing the outside of the gloves, then you’re going to transfer your nasty sweat into my food. Go wash your hands.

He reluctantly went to wash them and I could hear him muttering angrily under his breath. I just walked out. All of their employees are like this too. They’re unsanitary, basically unapproachably rude, wear FILTHY ratty clothes, and practice none of the ServSafe guidelines.

Louisiana Dept of Health needs to come shut this place down for good.

Avoid this place like the plague.

This place is hit or miss. The food quality is so inconsistent that I don’t think I will come back again. I’ve been here about 10 times now, and only 3 or 4 times the food was good. Don’t know why I keep going back, because at this point I’m just wasting my money.

My most recent experience I ordered the brisket, chicken, and jalapeno cheddar sausage. All 3 meats were not great and didn’t taste like the previous time I got them. The brisket is literally the dryest brisket I’ve ever eaten. Almost impossible to chew. Looks like dog food. The sausage is cut into randomly sized chunks, all different sizes. Something tastes odd about it. Same with the chicken. It has a weird flavor to it that I didn’t taste last time I ate here.

When I asked for 5 BBQ sauces to go with my order, the girl looked at me like I was robbing the place. Keep in mind, these are 2 oz cups of BBQ that they only fill half way. Most BBQ places will have giant bottles of sauce out on the tables. They choose to keep it in tiny cups behind the counter and make you feel awkward asking for more. Like sorry that I need something to get this incredibly dry food down?

Meal was supposed to come with Texas Toast, but I didn’t receive it. I only don’t care because their Texas Toast is honestly a joke it’s just a soggy piece of bread that they heat to about 90° in a rolling heater.

The owner needs to step in and correct the issues with the staff, the food quality, and the general business principles (ie serving BBQ sauce without making us feel like criminals) or else this place will fail.

Now I’m ready for the generic robot reply “thanks for the review, please contact us at ____@____.com so we can correct this!” No thanks, how about you just compile the NUMEROUS 1-2 star reviews and have a staff meeting to actually fix your restaurant.

Ordered dinner on doordash they didn’t put half the food in the order we ordered a salad without cheese because my wife is lactose intolerant and they loaded it with cheese. I got a 3 meat plate with chips and Mac and cheese had no chips they have me a 2 oz sauce cup of Mac and cheese. I paid for 3 sides of pickles I got 2 orders with about 5 pickles in each cup didn’t get the 3rd. Pictured is a 1oz cup with bbq sauce next to it is the pathetic 2oz portion of Mac and cheese.
