Our family usually enjoys eating here and it’s been delicious until the last couple of times, but today was the worst experience ever. They were out of all the sides except beans and green beans. We paid for sliced brisket and were told they would bring our food to our car. Like fools, we didn’t check the order when it came to the car. There was barely any beans in it at all and the brisket was all chopped up, not sliced. It was dry and half the pieces were just burnt ends. The shredded pork was extremely dry as well. There was only one person working at the time. It’s not a cheap place to eat by a long shot. We’re never going back there. It was only 7 p.m. and they don’t close until 9. It’s a shame and disgraceful how far the food and service has fallen. It’s as if they just threw the last of the worst food in a tray to get rid of it and charge people for it. I’m very disappointed and don’t suggest anyone go there after 5 because you probably aren’t going to get the good stuff. It’s always important to check the boxes they give you before you leave so you can get a refund right away. This was highway robbery and beneath what they used to pride themselves on claiming. Everything looked picked through and the meat was so dry and burnt in some places that it was not edible.
I wanted to add that some of these exact issues have been going on for years according to the reviews I read below. One was from 4 years ago. Obviously, the owners don’t have any interest in better service, better food quality or cleaner atmosphere in the restaurant. No wonder the young lady working by herself tonight was so miserable. You can’t expect to keep a good or happy employee if you don’t even bother to try to make improvements, yet it doesn’t stop the prices from going up.
It makes me wonder if the owners are just going through the motions, hoping they go bankrupt so they can close the place. It’s never going to be an option for people to return if you don’t care about your customers or employees. The owners should be embarrassed beyond belief. I don’t know how they could claim to be a good BBQ restaurant to other owners of the same type restaurant. It would be a joke if it wasn’t really happening and obviously being done on purpose.

I usually enjoy coming to this location when I want barbecue. Sadly, I won’t be returning to this location. The only employee working, told a gentleman ahead of me, that they were out of chicken wings. Something I was thinking about getting, myself. When I was time for me to order, I wanted the rib plate. I was told that they were out of ribs. Also, another disappointment.
So my third option was the 3 meat plate. They were also out of jalepeno sausage. So I settled on brisket, pulled pork, and grilled chicken breast. As I’m watching the employee prepare the food, I noticed the portion size was much smaller than usual, and the Texas toast was non existent. Especially for what I paid for. I got 2 meat plate with this order as well.
Bringing this food to eat was just as disappointing as seeing it being prepared. I don’t know why this location has fallen off, but I will never return here again. That’s ashame.

We stopped at Dickey’s Barbecue Pit near New Orleans on a Sunday around 8 PM, about an hour before closing, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The only employee working told us she could take our order, but when the food came out it was packaged to go and she informed us she was closing and hoped we weren’t planning to eat there, forcing us to leave. The food itself didn’t make up for it either. The ribs were lacking flavor, the pulled pork was dry, and while the sausage was okay, it wasn’t memorable. The BBQ baked beans tasted like plain Bush’s baked beans, the mac and cheese was just okay, and the baked potato didn’t even have butter or seasoning. Overall, I’d rate the food a 4/10 and the staff a 2/10. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Good: the one employee working was friendly.
Bad: Pretty much everything else. I have qiven this location multiple chances (sometimes you just want convenient bbq) but this was the last one. This visit: half of the soda fountain was inoperable, no big cups, no straws, ice cream machine broken, one roll of paper towels for napkins. Though tables are wiped down, this location just feels dirty and greasy, from the walls to the floors and to the decor — from kitchen to dining area. I don’t think there is any real ventilation in the building, so it smells. It’s like the owners have just given up and are waiting for the lease to end.
The food was just…. Meh. For the price paid, the pulled pork sandwich was small.. not much meat on it at all and seemed dry – not what I would consider pulled pork. We ate quickly just to get out. Will not go back.

Worst Dicky’s Experience ever. Arrived just as they were opening. They were out of many things. No baked potatoes, many sides, not available, had chips but said they were already sold. Meat was pulled out of fridge and warmed on a griddle. Bread was stale. Restaurant was so cold. Could not sit and eat. Took food to truck to eat. They were too busy filling a catering order to care about dine in. Everything was leftovers from the day before. Nothing was prepared that morning.

Gross. I pulled up a little after noon and had to look hard to see if the place was even open. Walking in you realize why as you are treated by an odd aroma. It definitely needs a good deep cleaning. Upon ordering the sole employee got my order going right away and it was actually not as dry as usual. The sides are served in mini styrofoam cups along with a king’s Hawaiian role now instead of the usual side containers and roll. The drink machine had to be turned on a was out of coke syrup, no tea had been made and I was given another styrofoam cup for my drink instead of the classic yellow. The credit card machine was not the one for the register so if you have Dickie’s points you won’t get them. The bbq sauce containers are now behind the counter. Looks like the place is going to close and surprised the franchise hasn’t stepped in yet. Sad as it is $24 for the 2 meat tray, you can’t feel comfortable there.

Second time I’ve come in and there’s something on the menu that’s not ready yet or still cooking. Customer service would probably be better too if the staff didn’t visibly keep their phones in their hands even while at the register ringing up Customers. Im bidding things here will improve in 2026…Thanks

Ordered through the catering line with no problem. The issues occurred after that. This was for a large corporate event. The food arrived an hour late. Guest arrived before the food did. We noticed, once we finished unpacking the delivery, that the BBQ sauce and dinner rolls were missing. Called the location that actually provided the food a few times about the shortage but no one answered the phone. Called the Catering line and was told they could not help me. The next day I called the local store that provided the food and was told a manager would call back but that didn’t happen. NEVER NEVER NEVER order from this company.

This is by far the worst Dickey’s I have ever been to. I will not be returning. I placed an order at 11:10, 10 minutes after they opened, for 16 wings and an order of fries. I drove there after putting an 11:30 pickup time online. My food had not even been started and the restaurant was empty. I got my food at 11:50, and the order was wrong. I got my actual correct order at 12:20, more than an hour after I had placed a small order and they weren’t busy the whole time I was there. The most depressing part was my fries. I payed $4.50 for an order of fries and the small bag they came in was 1/3rd full of fries. I could have held them all in the palm of my hand and had room for me. For almost $5?!? And they must have been the first thing done because they were cold when I picked up the first, incorrect order. Don’t waste your money or time coming here, there are a million and one better places in New Orleans to go to.
