Several years ago in St Cloud, Dickey’s closed which I was sad about. To my suprise while driving to another restaurant today, we spotted Dickeys. We turned around quickly to go here. Dickey’s was what got my family into BBQ food. We were excited. Driving up we were hoping that the memory of how good this place was, wasn’t just nostalgia. We ordered our food, and took our first bites and to our happiness it was just as good as we remembered. Go to Dickeys and support an amazing franchise. My family and I love this place and want to keep it in Minnesota!! Great work on the food Mankato team! We will be coming back soon!!

I love BBQ, so when we drove past, we had to stop in. The restaurant was clean, the service was ok, and the food looked OK. But when we started to eat, my first thought was, “Is this yesterday’s meat?” It was dry and lacked flavor. Same with the sides. Would not recommend this place. They need to really up their game if they plan to stay open.

NEW OWNERS! 1st time I have eaten at a Dickey’s establishment. It’s like a fast food place with class. I was greeted by smiles and a “Welcome to Dickey’s “. Forget any posts on this place before today! This place has NEW owners and they are Great! The menu has great choices and the staff answered my questions about the food with confidence. They have Coke in a Yellow Cup. Check it out. They are having a Grand Opening tomorrow October 14 2022. This BBQ place is worth trying.

I’ve read a recent review from Daniel Finden and I must update my post a few months ago when I went there for barbecue. When my husband and I were there in November 2023, the staffs and the owner were welcoming and friendly even when they were real busy with catering order. One of the staff even took his time carrying out my plates and helped cleaned the floor so we can sit comfortably. The quality of their food and services is first class.

They have the best brisket and Coleslaw! Yum! I wouldn’t say Josh was super friendly. And the ice was empty. I hadn’t had Dickey’s for probably 4 years. I’ll try it again. But he could be better at customer service. He kept working and I had to wait for him to take my order.

Under new ownership I am told. Friendly people and clean place. In the area for a game & had ordered a brisket sandwich, mac n cheese for lunch. I’m not a big on eating brisket but this sandwich was very tasty. Seasoned well and really don’t need the sauce but it is a nice touch. Mac n cheese is creamy. If I lived in the area it would be a place I would frequent. Overall i would recommend the locals and visitors try the place.

Owner was very nice as knowledgeable. Greeted us with kindness and even offered a few samples of each different kind of meat to try since we couldn’t decide. Free low lactose ice cream to enjoy afterwards. Thanks for the kindness and knowledge. We will definitely be back.

Pretty disappointed, spent over $50, for four sandwiches delivered. They forgot two of my sandwiches and the ones I got were not good. The brisket I ordered chopped and it was sliced and it was so dry.. it took so much work to chew. I thought I’d give it a try again with the recent good reviews, but I’m left pretty disappointed. I don’t know if I’ll be back.

This is a re-post 7 months after my last visit. I couldn’t figure out to how to have a sequel review, so I deleted it and am now amending my impressions. Tonight, the 3-meat platter was a grand slam! The brisket was so flavorful it didn’t need sauce, the wings with the Rib Rub as a dry rub were so flavorful…and yes, they are delightfully salty – but that’s what I expect from a rub. The pulled pork was good as well. However, the big heroes tonight were the two sides: green beans and brisket chili. Holy smokes are those amazing! For quick service restaurants, Wendy’s will now have to move over because the fast chili award for sure goes to Dickies! And I can’t say enough for the green beans. I LOVE their pepperiness and flavor. Anyone that has ever said they hate green beans has perhaps never had them like this.
Finally, I can’t say enough about the service. I know the store is under new ownership, and it’s clear they are doing everything they can to make sure everyone has a great experience. Kids eat free on Sundays, the ice cream’s always free. What great people!
