I ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, and ribs — and honestly, the food was much better than I anticipated. The brisket was standout good — tender, flavorful, and comparable to what you’d find at more high-end barbecue spots. The smoked chicken was a little dry, but that’s fairly common for smoked poultry, and the flavor was still solid. The ribs had a strong smoke profile — maybe a bit more than I prefer — but they were meaty, came clean off the bone, and tasted great overall.
I didn’t try any sides this time, just the meats, and for what I paid, it was a very fair deal. Despite the sleepy atmosphere, the food quality was genuinely impressive. This location may not look like much, but it’s quietly been serving good barbecue for years — and I’m glad it’s still around as an affordable local option.
And the food was sub-par. The pork BBQ was dry, and the rolls were NOT the hot, fresh yeast rolls that Dickey’s is known for. They were room temperature, day-old (or x-frozen) grocery store dinner rolls. Yuk!
I usually love Dickeys BBQ, but this place was a big disappointment. It’s clear this location is suffering from lack of business, and they are cheaping out to try and hang on. I feel for them, but don’t plan on returning.
Dickey’s Corp really should look into this location to see if they are violating franchise standards.
portion in photo for two meat plate. But I cannot rate more than 2 stars for a $19 dish. Brisket was dry and they missed chop/slice. I have to say that there are quite a few good bbq places around. It’s not worthy considering here at all!
Btw, the owner told me to email him. I did the same day. No response of course. He just wanted to pretend that he cared customers while actually not.
4/23/25 Update: You can see managements reply, and their decision to not replace/provide the original items that were ordered, and not provided at pickup. IE., because they’re not serious about fixing the issues…as demonstrated by the multitude of bad reviews left by customers. BEWARE
