Running out of items seems to be the norm. This night the Giant Bakers, Baked Potato Casserole, Kielbasa (or forgotten, as it wasn’t included) and a number of other selections had been nixed for the night. I ordered the Pork Out Platter that supposedly included pulled pork, pork ribs, kielbasa and pork burnt ends with my side being waffle fries and mac and cheese. Fries came raw, still soft and folded over, dripping grease. Meats were a mishmash, only two of the meats I ordered discernible, with the overall taste acceptable. Mac and cheese was hot and cheesy and the dinner rolls were good. Besides the mac, temperature was lacking and the waffle fries after a second bath in the hot grease edible. (Photo of fries is after second go round). The eatery is dark on the outside and dingy in the inside. Staff were friendly. Nothing here to encourage me to come again.

I was lucky enough to get there early and get some brisket burnt ends. Tasty! The pork sandwich was dry. They removed pork ends from the menu. Friendly staff. Sides and BBQ sauce is good.

This is a cool little restaurant in Hendersonville, NC just off the exit. I found out it is a chain that started in Texas as course. I am born and raise in Texas so no surprise this place is the real deal. As you can see I got bbq chicken with bbq sauce just dripping. The meat just fell apart it was so tender and juicy. I also had the Coleslaw and potatoe salad that were tasty.
As you walk into the store I was greeted by two girls asking what will it be. After looking over the menu I settled on the bbq chicken, slaw, and potatoe salad.
A friend had the ribs and they loved them too.
I have personally never heard of the restaurant or chain but they are well worth the stop to get some finger licken country food.
Tell them I sent you

It’s difficult to determine which barbecue sauce is best, their original or the sweet sauce. Both are outstanding. The staff is always friendly. Beware, that at lunch and dinner hours, the lines can be long, but to be expected with a place that serves barbecue this good.

8-AUG-2024:
Sadly, this location is gone. The interior is being remodeled for a different restaurant. The Dickry’s signs are gone. I added a new photo for this. We miss their great Texas BBQ.
We moved here from Texas, known for great BBQ. Dicky’s serves great Texas style BBQ. Well-smoked meats and great sauce. Brisket is the best by far in Western North Carolina. It’s not greasy. The optional sauce is tangy, not sugary sweet and not weird (honey mustard sauce on BBQ???). This place is informal and many people get take-out. Try it. You’ll go back.
10/26/2023 update: Had a late lunch here today. Some great improvements! Brisket and sides are MUCH better. Brisket chile us great new side dish. The decor has been refreshed. Possibly the best brisket in North Carolina. We really enjoyed our meals.
Informal, counter service, clean. Try them.

Was kind of disappointed. We got brisket and it was very dry and tough. Couldn’t eat it. We also ordered wings and ribs. Wings were so little and we thought they would be smoked, not. Ribs were really tender and flavorful.

DO NOT GO HERE! We made an order from door dash. We did not get what we ordered. I called the store there was only one person working there. I told him we didn’t get what we ordered he said they were out of all of the items. He said he forgot the pecan pie. I could come get them. He said a manager would be in until the morning. This is so ridiculous, and so disrespectful. If you don’t have it call the customer!

We arrived in Flat Rock and was looking for some place to eat, close to our hotel. We saw their was a Dickey’s down the street, so we decided to give it a try. Being from Texas, we love barbeque and we love Dickey’s. We made an excellent choice! The Pull Pork and Barbeque sandwiches were great and the lady taking our order was very helpful. Definitely worth a try if you like good Texas barbeque. The only complaint I had was the temperature in the building was a little warm, and they ran out of tea when we went to refill our cups. Other than that it is a great place to eat.

To be completely honest for the prices and portions I should’ve just gone to Luella’s and paid the same for bigger and better portions, these portions are for toddler’s honestly spent 40$ for a small sandwich and a 2 meat tray with barley anything in it, just look at the portion size compared to my hand. Unbelievable.

✋ SO % DONE WITH DICKEY’s BBQ ❌❗
I’ve reviewed several times.
Let me break it down now!
“Smoked Turkey” my foot That AIN’T TURKEY they was serving. That was…idk what it was! NOT turkey
“We don’t have any baked potato casserole, ma’am.”
What are those 3 people doing back there I wonder? I see one older man, 3 teen girls, no pulled pork, no baked taters, no tater salad, no…well…I left cuz they had nothing at all but fatty brisket
Hmmm…
Anyhow y’all…
**IF YOU DON’T KNOW BEEF BRISKET IS CHOSEN FOR BBQ CUZ ALL THAT MARBLED FAT COOKES AWAY TO LEAVE THE MEAT. NO FAT EXCEPT THE RIND ON THAT ONE EDGE N A BIT HERE N THERE. IF IT’S FATTY YOU GOT CHEAP MEAT OR IT AINT BBQ’d.***
I would find bbq at any other joint in town or Asheville. Or hmgo to MCDONALD’S like I did. I enjoyed the #2w/coke far more than fake turkey, fatty brisket and bad service.
