This was a pickup order…I Was very disappointed with the food. I ordered the loaded baked potato with brisket. This is always my go to meal at a barbecue place. Coming from texas I know barbecue. The potato was on the small side even loaded it was dry. you would think with the butter and sour cream it would be moist. The brisket was average at best. They also give you a paltry amount of sauce. Glad I had some of my own. I guess I’m just spoiled eating actual Texas barbecue in Texas.

Ordered there new chili dog and baked potato with fried chicken and got about half of what was shown in the picture. Its actually wildly fake advertisements. Instead I got a few pieces of chicken and the smallest hotdog I’ve ever seen in my life. Fork for scale in pictures. The pictures they show aren’t even close to the real thing it feels almost like a scam for how much they charged. I’ve ordered here for a few years and normally the food is great and the portions are fair.

So I’ve tried this place twice. First time I came they were out of the first 2 things I tried to order. Tried again today and not only was I extremely disappointed but $21 for a baked potato and a drink is willllld. If the potato was 12.99 that means the one size soda was $8? I should have charged them an $8 pest control fee for clearing all the bugs near soda machine. I considered saying nevermind when they told me price but considering I drove 35 miles just to go here and was starving I paid.
More than half the brisket on my potato was pure fat, so potato butter sour cream and 6 pieces of edible meat… straight kaka. If you like over priced FAT this will be your new fav spot. Enjoy at your own risk.

I’m giving the food 4stars because I enjoyed it however I did not enjoy my service as I felt very uncomfortable ordering my food because when I asked a question about the menu it was as if I was bothering the workers. Whoever was on meat tonight seems to have an issue with women of color and is very dismissive. I have visited this establishment plenty of times before and never felt anything like I did tonight. Whoever the new staff or owners are this is not a good look for business it gives very much Racist. And also they were talking in their language in front of me which is why I felt the need to check my food and my order to make sure everything was right and i know they were talking about me .

I will never bring going here again. If I want Southern comfort I’ll just go across the way to Texas Roadhouse. My boyfriend and I came in on October 13th during the storm. We both order 2 meat plates. The meats on both trays were dry and I was given the wrong meats. They also put the spicy BBQ in the sweet BBQ cups so when I went to use my sauce I had to use Imodium because I have IBS that is triggered by cayenne pepper and chili peppers. When I brought the mix up to their attention they just tried giving me MORE of the contaminated sauces and they refused to fix the meat mix up. Insisting that the meats they gave me were the ones I ordered and they refused to give me a refund.

This is my third and last time visiting this establishment/location. The first time, about seven months ago, the food was good, but there were a few things that they did on my takeout order, such as putting the Texas toast in the container with the hot meat, making it inedible . The second time I visited, I got all the way home only to find out that one of the three meats in the three meat platter was wrong, so I called and they wanted me to come back, which would have rendered the rest of the meal inedible/cold but I was told to mention it next time I was in which I chose not to do. My most recent visit, Friday, September 12, 2025, I walked in and went to the cash register to place my order and an unfriendly woman pointed me down to the other end of the counter, where I then told a worker what I wanted, which was 2 three meat platters. I told the worker which meats I wanted and then was asked what sides I wanted, so I ordered for my wife, the mashed potatoes with gravy and the baked potato casserole. I was told that they are both the same side (???)so I switched one to mac & cheese. When I got home, I opened up the box and the turkey was cut as thin as you would get it from a deli, the jalapeño cheddar kielbasa was also thin as could be and cut in uneven slices, the brisket had one lump of the end of the roast, cut very thick and very dried out and hard that we could not even chew through it, and the pulled pork was gelatinous because of all of the fat in probably a cheap piece of meat that wasn’t rendered down properly.
Lastly, the woman who rang me up, seemed bothered by having customers, never once smiled, and overall gave me bad vibes as if she couldn’t care less about my purchase. After spending $50 on dinner that we basically could not eat and were unhappy with, I went on Dickeys website and reached out to corporate by providing the information requested, and obviously they couldn’t care less either of me being a customer because as of this review, I have not heard from them at all. I am sure these are franchised, and based on my experience from my first visit to my third visit, they are clearly maximizing profits by giving less meat. If I wanted turkey cut that thin I would have gone to a deli. If I wanted brisket that hard to chew I would have bought some jerky… But apparently this location and dickies corporate don’t care. Stay far away from this establishment as well as the company.

2 Meat Platter – Ribs and Sausage (Jalapeño Cheddar) with Potato Salad and BBQ Beans – everything was just ok
Wings with Rib Rub and Carolina BBQ – also ok
Service was good, they were patient as we decide on what to order.
Warm inside, like AC wasn’t on…

“Mixed review Meats are very good but the rest..”
MENU – the menu is what brought them to 3 stars because they had big changes and eliminated half the menu. They eliminated a ton of stuff like turkey, burnt ends, onion straws, waffle fries, corn bread. BBQ place with no corn bread? The menu became very fast food like.
FOOD – the meats are still excellent. Pulled pork is excellent brisket is excellent. But that’s about it. The chicken is just ok and the sausage is nothing special. As for the sides not so good. Which is strange because that’s usually the easy part. Fries are terrible, mashed are not good.
SERVICE – unfortunately you can clearly tell they are penny pinching and trying to maximize profit while quality suffers. No special requests, and no accommodations.

This is the 4th time I’ve ordered from this place. First two times sucked! Third time was awesome. Burnt ends, sliced brisket, and pulled pork were excellent. Good crispy waffle fries. Disgusting, inedibly salty creamed spinach. Just okay baked beans.
This most recent time, the brisket burnt ends are just a few actual burnt ends and a bunch of tiny pieces of chopped brisket slices.
1-lb of sliced beef brisket is $21.00
1-lb of brisket burnt ends is $27.00
So I feel taken on having ordered the burnt ends and instead got chopped up slices of brisket. If anything, these so-called “burnt ends” should be significantly cheaper than the sliced beef brisket.
Also, the brisket burnt ends does not weigh 16-ounces, but rather 14.55-ounces. (You’re supposed to get what you pay for, especially when you spend nearly $100 on lunch). Shortchanging customers is just a lousy business model.
I’m not sure if I’ll be ordering from Dickey’s again or not. In 4 total orders, only 1 has been very good. Like every other place in EHT, this place is also hit or miss, but with a 25% success rate, this place is mostly “miss” for me.
Having said all this, when Dickey’s gets it right, it is fan-freaking-tastic! It’s as good as any barbecue I’ve had in South Jersey. But… getting a good meal from this place is a lot like trying to win the lottery.
So good luck! I hope you order on a “hit” day.
Peace! ✌️
(P.S. – The rolls are probably the most awful I’ve ever had anywhere in my entire 46 years. They are quite literally, square hockey pucks).
