Dicey’s Pizza & Tavern (Lincoln Park)

Social Profile:

Dicey’s Pizza & Tavern is a neighborhood bar that happens to serve high-quality salads, fresh sandwiches, and really, really good tavern-style pizza. There’s also cold, cold beers, some cocktails and some shots, and a totally decent range of natural and organic wines. It might be too dark, is probably too loud and it could be fun but, then again, who knows?”

Tator tots 10/10! Extra crispy with a great dipping sauce. The salad and pizza were not 10/10. Extremely salty pizza and service was not great on a slow Monday night. I can’t imagine what it’s like when it’s actually busy here if it ever does get busy.

Good tavern style pizza. The 14in is perfect for two people with a bit to take home. We got the Peppy Boy, which had a hot honey drizzle on top. Crispy outer edges and softer towards the middle of the pie. Drink prices, especially for beer, were higher than most tavern style places. A 22oz local craft brew were upwards of $14+, that’s steep.

Absolutely love their pizzas! I would recommend their Caccio e Peppe or pepperoni and banana peppers, delish!
Chicken wings and meatballs are also tasty, would totally recommend this place.
Service was great as well.

If you haven’t been to Dicey’s yet go immediately! It’s been on my long list of want to go for a while now and I’m very pleased I did. Our server Will was impeccable very welcoming, great recommendations. We ordered the giardiniera dip perfect amount of heat that makes you want more without being overwhelming, little gem salad personal fave, a braised meat broccolini Philly sandwich which was on special for the day, as well as the Hippy Flip pizza everything was very satisfying. Great chill vibes place with great food and even better staff. Can’t wait to return and check out that patio when the Chicago weather decides to finally warm up.

I don’t understand any of the negative reviews here. We got seated right away. The service was attentive, and the food came out very quickly. We got the pizza, tots, and salad. All delicious. Cool vibe inside as well.

Really good pizza and good selection of beers/drinks. Unfortunately, they were out of a few items when I visited. The staff were all very friendly and everything came out in a timely manner. Excited for the patio to open up when it’s warmer!

Been wanting to try this place for a while, so glad we finally did. It’s true Chicago style tavern pizza. We had the giardiniera dip, Cacio E Pepe, and Hippy Flip pizzas. It’s the perfect amount of cheese (cheese-pull lover here) and the flavors were delicious. We treated ourselves to one chocolate cannoli – so rich but so good. Definitely recommend.

Okay, heads up—I might be a bit of a tavern-style pizza snob, but IMO: the pizza was kind of a miss for me. It was unevenly charred, too thick, and the sauce either wasn’t enough or just didn’t have much flavor. That said, they were clearly swamped, but the service was still on point and the vibes were great. I’d definitely give them another shot since they’re new and still finding their groove.

A new West Town restaurant on Chicago brings biker vibes. The whole place is decked out in Harley Davidson paraphernalia. This is apparently a chain from Nashville that specializes in the Chicago Favorite of Tavern style pizza. The pizza was very flat (like it should be) with cornmeal on the bottom, the pepperoni was crunchy and the pesto pizza was soggy. The pesto pizza had too many toppings and not enough crust. I think when it comes to tavern style, less is more. The pepperoni was good though.

They had happy hour deals like a beer and a shot and mostly “local” drafts or basic beers like Miller.

It was full of kids (literally every table) which was nice because it is quite dark inside so it’s hard to tell whether it is kid friendly.

The staff were attentive, and nice.

Dicey’s is out here slinging incredible tavern style pies. My favorites were the Peppy Boy and the Sausage and Giard. We got the parm tots as an app, the tots were absolutely perfect. And we got the giard dip, which was a 10/10 and I will be trying to recreate at home.
