I’ve only heard good things about DiCarlo’s original style pizza so I decided to finally see what all the hype was about. I must say their pizza was exceptionally good. Their crust is thin and crunchy and the cheese they put on after baking gets metled just enough. My pet peeve with pizza is when you take a bite and all the cheese slides off. No worries of that here. The restaurant itself is also BYOB, which is nice.

The pizza is square style. Only place in York that I know who does it like that. The crust and sauce were great. It’s served “crunchy”. Good selection of toppings. Mixed peppers are my favorite. Garlic powder isn’t offered, which was a little disappointing at first. But the pizza has a fantastic flavor without it, so it’s alright. Overall a great pizza shop with a nice vibe!

Great pizza especially as a late night snack after a night in town. Would definitely eat again! They put the cheese on right at the end and it’s actually delicious and less greasy. It’s also rectangular which makes sharing easy. 16 pieces per large pie. It’s like tomato pie but better!

I can’t believe I’m reviewing a pizza place, but this place has earned it! Their pizza is incredible (get it original!!) and, relative to other pizza places, rather low calorie. The guys running the joint are well-versed in what they do and are respectful of their customers. The atmosphere is pretty chill when it’s not crowded. Only issue is that the place can get busy on the weekends.

Stopped by late at night after grabbing a couple drinks downtown and was surprised at how good this pizza is. I was hesitant to try the classic style (crust and sauce baked first and cheese added afterwards), but boy was I glad that I did. The fresh cheese on top was delicious and the perfect partner for the warm crunchy crust underneath. I liked it so much I went back for lunch the next day.

Their Original Pizza is fantastic. Hot crust and sauce with cold cheese tossed on right before they hand it to you. The cheese mixture they use is nice. The menu is small but you go to Dicarlo’s for the pizza and nothing else.
The restaurant is clean and you can watch them make your food as you wait. The service is friendly and helpful. The price is good as well. This is one of my favorite places to eat any time I’m in York.

It’s good quality & fresh. The minced cheese takes some getting used to but the two things you need most in a good pizza, great sauce and crust, is evident. “Classic” is certainly worth trying but if you want crispy pepperoni, go with “melted”. Everything we’ve had on the menu was delicious!

Awesome pizza with a twist! Was so glad to try out their take on the famous dish. The cheese put on after the dough and sauce comes out of the oven is delicious. They’re BYOB and have fountain drinks as well. Staff was very friendly and helpful, check them out!

This was my first time (and NOT the last) having DiCarlo’s style pizza. For anyone who hasn’t experienced this style pizza, here’s what you should expect:
They sell “Cuts” not slices. It’s ‘square’ pizza with awesome crust. And, the cheese isn’t melted!! It’s put on last, and in great quantity. Oh, and it’s Provolone cheese that’s shredded in house. I’m not kidding. I watched them shred a couple blocks while I waited for my Cuts to be served. They cook the pizza, (and any toppings you request), then when it’s done cooking, they pull it out, cut it, cover it with handfuls of shredded Provolone cheese, a serve it up!!! The mix between the hot crust, sauce, and toppings, but the cool cheese is amazing. And you don’t burn the roof of your mouth!! I got 3 cuts myself, with mushrooms and sausage and I struggled to put that last bite away… But then I had the last 2 bites of my dates 3rd slice of just cheese. 🙂 By the time I was on my 3 slice, it was easy to see that the cheese was melting to the cut, but it didn’t change the overall taste. I can wait until I’m back in the area so I can grab a couple more cuts. 🙂
