Although I love the tradition and culture that they hold down in the area, I am just not a fan of the pizza. I’ve given it many tries. The most recent one I just got was a full tray, and the dough was literally only halfway cooked. I don’t think these are a cook your own pizza but this one definitely was and we don’t have an oven the size to fit it so I was a bit disappointed. I think if the pizza was just cooked slightly longer and the sauce had a little bit more flavor in or tanginess it would be right on point with the best of the Sicilian pizzas. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I am giving my honest feedback on it. That’s why I rated the service and atmosphere five stars the food three stars. However, I know many people love this place and consider it their favorite so it’s one of those places you just have to try yourself and you’re probably gonna love it or you’re gonna hate it.

Ive grown up eating DiCarlos pizza. Since I grew up in Wellsburg, the DiCarlos in Wellsburg was always my favorite. Then the shop in Follansbee on the hill. Now that I live in Weirton, this shop is growing on me now. But they all differ in taste just a little bit from eachother and I think that’s what I like most about DiCarlos bc their all great!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ DiCarlo’s Pizza – Weirton, WV

DiCarlo’s Pizza is an absolute Weirton staple and a must-visit every time I’m in town. If you know me, you know I love pizza — and this place never disappoints.

Located right on Main Street, DiCarlo’s is one of those signature hometown spots that defines the area. Whenever we visit friends and family, this stop is non-negotiable.

Ordering here is part of the experience. It’s best to call the pizza line, and instead of just ordering a full pie, you can order by the slice, which we love. Our go-to is cheese and pepperoni with extra pepperoni — and the real MVP is that bag of extra cheese on the side. It’s a must. The pizza has a great crunch, and that extra cheese takes it to another level. I usually enjoy 3–4 slices easily.

Prices are great, the staff is always friendly, and the drive-thru is quick and convenient, making it an easy and reliable stop.

This is exactly the kind of hometown food spot you have to support and revisit whenever you’re back in town. DiCarlo’s continues to earn my love and respect every time.

The pizza at this location is decent, but not as good as the Steubenville location. The lack of drink options is quite appalling for a restaurant. However, the same excellent prices still apply, and you can feed multiple people with their large tray pizzas. While this location has a large parking lot, there is little to be desired.

In the area training for the week. For dinner each day, I’ve been trying out the local recommended hole in the wall food joints. Pretty much all of the locals have said I need to get pizza and/or Italian food from Mario DiCarlos.

So I get to the WV location (locals on either side of the river say it’s the better one) and ask the waitress what she recommends. She said to try a slice of the regional favorite, an Ohio Valley style pizza. It has a thinner baked crust and a warm sauce, then the cheese and all of the other toppings are cold. Then it all clicked and I remembered hearing about Steubenville style pizza a few years ago. It’s a big thing around these parts and they are proud of it! So I gave it a go and ordered a slice. I like hot pizza. I like cold pizza. Why not? Several other folks also suggested their meatball heel. Just order and go with it. So I did.

Overall the food came out fantastic. The pizza was definitely different. The flavor was great and the contrast of the hot and cold added another element to it. The meatball heel turned out to be nearly a foot long loaf of Italian bread that was hollowed out and stuffed with meatballs the size of my fist and cheese. Fat man heaven! I brought most of it back with me. Good end to another long day.

I have loved this pizza since I was a little kid. And every single time I get to come home, its the first thing I want to eat. And I always bring it home all the way back to Atlanta, Ga.
Thank you Dicarlo ‘s for always being consistent. This is a staple in my life, my childhood memories and now my children’s memories. ❤️

The wait is AWFUL I mean like AWFUL. If you order ahead they will have no idea where your order is when you get there. Pizza is awesome but we hate going to get it.

Exactly what do you have to do when you pay $61 for a tray of pizza to actually get it cooked. I would be ashamed to hand a pizza to someone like that. You have to cook it to eat it. Dicarlo’ s your a complete joke. I guess when you go out of business it won’t be a surprise. Total slop. It used to be good. I would give no stars if I could.
