Truly Magical

Every town has a bakery that serves up something special and delicious. In Roslyn, that honor goes to Diane’s Bakery.

This venue is bustling at noon non stop. The outdoor seating in garden is filled with shrubs. Very serene & calm. Hint: The only thing missing is a water fountain .

$14 peach pie is large enough for 2. I devoured the 1,000 calories pie. Only because I’m cycling to City Island & will likely burn 3 times that.

Great vibes from everyone. I guess sugary pies do make happiness…

I visited Diane’s Bakery/Cafe and it was a really enjoyable experience overall. This is the kind of spot that feels a little more elevated than your average cafe, both in atmosphere and in the food. It is definitely a bit expensive, but once the dishes arrive, it makes sense why. The quality is there and the portions are genuinely satisfying.

The pasta absolutely stole the show for me. It was rich, comforting, and incredibly filling. You can tell it is made with care and attention to flavor, not just thrown together as an afterthought. It is the kind of meal that leaves you full and happy without feeling heavy, and honestly felt more like something you would get at a sit down restaurant than a cafe. If you are someone who loves pasta, this alone is worth the visit.

I also have to mention the hazelnut coffee . The flavor was smooth and well balanced. It paired perfectly with the food and felt like a small treat that made the whole meal feel more special. It is easy to see why people come here not just for pastries, but for a full coffee and food experience.

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a nice place to sit and actually enjoy your time rather than rushing in and out. Everything feels thoughtfully done, from the menu to the presentation. While the prices are on the higher side, the food quality, portion size, and overall experience make it feel worth it. Diane’s Bakery Cafe is a great choice when you want something comforting, filling, and just a little indulgent.

Diane’s bakery and cafe is one of the hidden gems / food highlights in Roslyn. Good seating upstairs, and also outside seating on warmer days (don’t mind the viaduct). For those with savory taste preferences, the salad bar and quiches are so good. I am not particularly a sweetooth but my family love the cakes and pies. ❤️

Wow, just wow! Had the best quiche of my LIFE here! It was everything a quiche would want to be. I will dream about it at night. Wish I could post a pic but ate it all before I thought of it. I had the bacon onion mini quiche which would not normally be a combo I would want but I trusted that it would be good and it exceeded my expectations tenfold! The crust oh god, the crust – flaky and perfect. The filling was custard like and the flavor, chefs kiss!

Great cafe with plenty of seating. I loved the wooden display cases and seeing all the satisfying treats presented. There are many different varieties so you’ll have a hard time choosing. The only negative is that there aren’t signs displayed to show what is in front of you so you’ll need to ask the cashier. The pastry that I ordered was the perfect treat for an afternoon snack. The decaf coffee was good as well, not acidic or burnt even though the coffee pots are sitting there. The coffee is self serve on the opposite side of the cashier where there are plenty of milk alternatives. Great place to spend an afternoon.

Another staple around the holidays and through the year! We love their cookies, pies, cakes, and desserts! Also, their breakfast and lunch! Everything is fantastic, but we adore her pecan pie! Try it, you won’t regret it!

One of the few places I can find Banoffee pie in long island. It was ok but it needed more caramel and the crust wasn’t packed at all. A loose graham cracker dusting more so on the bottom. The chocolate chip muffin was super packed and dense but in a good way. I really liked that sometimes.

Diane’s is a great place for a quick grab and go lunch. The salad bar is solid with nice variety of tasty sandwiches. The dessert area is beautiful and hard to stay away from, everything I tasted was amazing. They have a nice outdoor seating area with plenty of space for you to enjoy your coffee.

This review is solely based on the pies/tarts which are the only things I’ve tried from Diane’s and they are AMAZING. Our friend (a local) visits us often in CT and he always brings us a Diane’s pie/tart! My favorite so far has been anything Peach, the Pear almond tart, and the Triple Berry pie. The smaller size is perfect for a special treat or sweet gift.
