Disappointing experience at Diamonds Diner | Evansville, IN

90% sure this was a fritter. Had a weird flavor that reminded me of slight freezer burn or something like it. While it didn’t taste bad, it was …

Stopped by and I’m convinced their country fried steak could solve at least half the world’s problems. No need for the Iron Dome, bring the diner. The baked potato was perfect, the food came out quick, and our waitress Thelma was fantastic; super friendly and kept checking on us before we even realized we needed anything. Heads up: you may roll out of there instead of walking, but it’s 100% worth it.

A first time visit. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. We asked what was best and told fried chicken. They were not wrong. The chicken was crispy, tender, juicy, and piping hot! The plate cone with 2 sides I had a salad and green beans. The salad dressing i picked was Ranch. There is nothing better than homemade Ranch. The green beans was great. My DH would say they needed salt but if you are low sodium they were perfect!!! Salt can be add but not taken away. My friend had the mashed potatoes and gravy. The gravy was flavorful, creamy and perfect for dipping the chicken into, while the potatoes looked homemade. The Ruben sandwich I was told is really good.

Decent local place. The fried chicken and fish was really good. The sides honestly didn’t have much taste. Service was good. Pricing pretty reasonable on most items. We will be back again to try the breakfast. The breakfast menu looked better and more reasonable for the value.

We went to Diamonds Diner after church this morning. The food was so good, with large portions. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. I hope they are here to stay. I got the marinated chucken with mushrooms and Swiss cheese, mashed potatoes and green beans. There was enough food for me for 3 meals. We will definitely be back.

Paid 43 dollars for a meal for three. A mickey mouse pancake for my step son with sausage links and eggs. Chicken tinders which was good. But the real disappointment was the Patty melt..if you are going to charge 10.99 for a burger make sure you actually use real beef. Not a pre packaged wanna be frozen beef puck. And wow you have waitresses double stacking on tables superceding each other like they are table poaching each other. There is no structure to this place.

I’ve lived in Evansville for 47 years. I grew up 30 feet from Garvin park. No business has made it at 315 E. Diamond. I think that trend will change with Diamonds Diner. The food was great. The staff was attentive and nice. The food portions are huge! Best wishes for success.
