We had the most wonderful dining experience tonight. Ushered back in time, welcomed into a grand and beautiful historic room (built in 1937), by host, Scott. Once seated at a comfortable table, surrounded by quiet Christmas Chill music, our server, Jeffery began his mission to graciously serve us. Everything we ordered was exceptionally delicious: crab cakes with shrimp and artichoke hearts, Cesar salad prepared with anchovy dressing, lobster and a fillet steak (their surf & turf), Brussels sprouts, a fish fillet heaped with crab meat, asparagus, crème brûlée , chocolate cake, and fresh brewed decaf coffee! We enjoyed a pleasant unhurried and delicious meal. The well preserved architectural features of the room itself kept us engaged, examining the attention paid to so many details to accentuate them. We are so glad The Diamond Grille was recommended to us!

This is an excellent restaurant housed in an historic building. (The wine vault is in the original jewelry vault.) The wine list is modest but intelligently picked. I tasted many food plates at the upstairs bar area. These were locally inspired (Louisiana) . All were excellent! Highly recommend the food. The atmosphere in the upstairs bar area was cozy, with probably the best bar tender ever – and I’ve been around a few bars including the US. What I like is the high quality of locally inspired food with no pretentiousness. A must visit if you are in Alexandria LA. 5 stars

Always a good choice when you want one of the best dining experiences Alexandria has to offer. Beautiful decor and rich history. Service is always top notch and the kitchen keeps some of your favorites available but continually comes up with new dishes and suggestions that hit the spot. Great place for a large group and plenty of tables tucked away if you want a spot for 2. Food is always wonderful – highly recommend!

Excellent friendly service. Alexis was very knowledgeable of the menu and the ingredients and cooking details. Food perfectly prepared and seasoned. Lovely venue. Easy free parking on the street. Shrimp crunch appetizer was interesting abd refreshing. Seabass was perfectly prepared and tenderloin steak very tender, despite being cooked on a grill, with delicious cowboy butter seasoning. All highly recommended. Will certainly be back.

Sat at the bar, Stephen and Luke took the best care and made us feel so welcome. Even had a coat for me, because I was chilly. Never had that kind of service. Food was outstanding. Well worth the price. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you all for your wonderful company !

I never leave five star reviews because no place is perfect. But this place is the exception. I don’t know the chefs, but they cook food that ruins every other restaurants’ food. I’ve eaten in many states and five countries, but this place is my favorite. The staff (shout out to Chris, Megan, Lauren, Kristen, Treyvon, and the rest) are mind-blowing in how far they go. By now, I’ve eaten most things on the menu, except the salad, and each was absolutely delicious. I have been back and will be back again.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Service was extraordinary. We stayed at the Bentley, which the restaurant is within walking distance. The table favorite were the lamb pops. I hope to recreate our visit again in the near future because the food was superb, far exceeding the restaurants here in Houston imo.

Our waitress was great. We had a reservation for 4:30(opening) and was seated at 4:33. I ordered the vegan vegetable pasta with asparagus and my husband ordered the 16oz ribeye with asparagus and smothered potatoes and green beans. We did not have order an appetizer. Our orders were received around 4:45, we received our food at 5:15. The food was unseasoned and my husband’s steak was charred. The bread came halfway through our meal. Dessert was cheesecake with a strawberry reduction which tasted store brought.

Best place to eat as far as food and service with an amazing sitting area. Cooks are on their game to create the best food and the waiters and waitresses are very kind and polite as well as knowing the food they are serving. Definitely gonna visit this restaurant again!
