Step inside and you’re welcomed into a cozy, warm atmosphere that feels intimate even when the restaurant is full. The staff is top-notch—attentive, professional, and genuinely focused on making sure you’re taken care of at every stage of the meal.
The food is the real star here. With house-made pasta, fresh ingredients, and a well-curated menu, every dish feels thoughtful and full of flavor. I didn’t try the wine myself, but I’ve heard their selection is excellent and worth exploring.
Whether you’re local or just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by di Paolo. It’s a wonderful reminder that great food and hospitality can often be found where you least expect it.

This place is an absolute gem! We drive all the way from kennesaw to dine here when we can. The food is delicious every time… we love that they offer the half portions for the pasta dishes. The appetizers and salads are always super tasty. Our experience has always been 10/10. So glad we came across this place on open table!

It was my birthday dinner. We had a table of 6. Our waiter was exhausted before he even started waiting on us. He kept pressing us to order. I asked to speak with the wine concierge, as I had already spoken to him while waiting in the bar. Our waiter said no, what are you looking at? I asked my question, took whatever he gave us. We told him the wine was for all 6 of us. He emptied the bottle in 4 glass (heavy ours)! Then asked if we wanted another bottle. WTH. I flagged down the wine concierge and ordered a different bottle that was respectfully poured. Waiter brought me my complimentary dessert of biscotti and cream. But never asked if we wanted to order a different dessert. He then dropped off our check. Food was great as always. Service was just freaking weird.

This was our first and last time eating here. It was very busy but they sat us right away. The food came pretty quickly once we were able to order which took about 30 minutes. The food was not very good. The margherita pizza was chewy and really was just a cheese pizza with tomatoes. The lasagna was weird too. It was made with green pasta, but it was mostly just a bunch of cheese and very little pasta. My wife ordered a desert wine which took about 20 minutes for them to bring. Overall it took us almost 2 hours to eat. We will not be going back.

Atmosphere:
Walking in, the place felt cute and cozy with charming décor. Though it’s on the smaller side and was pretty packed, it never got too loud — thanks to the acoustical tiles, which were a really nice touch.
Service:
The hostess was friendly, and even without a reservation, we were seated right away. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive at first, but the place was clearly understaffed. From the time we got the dessert menu to when she returned, 30 minutes had passed — so we obviously skipped dessert. We saw her hustling nonstop, even clearing tables herself, while the guys handing out bread and pepper stood around. The issue wasn’t the waitress — it was management. The workload definitely needs to be redistributed.
Food:
The option for half portions of pasta is great, and the pasta itself was tasty. The lentil soup was fantastic — hearty and flavorful. The chef’s special, a fluke dish, was cooked well but unfortunately so over-salted it was almost inedible. The risotto was delightful, but the plate really needed something green — maybe asparagus — to balance it out. For $36, the portion felt small and not quite worth the price.
And maybe it’s just the Northerner in me, but as a self-proclaimed bread snob, I have to say the bread was a letdown. It was fluffy and soft, with none of that rustic crunch I love in Italian bread. Honestly, it might as well have been a slice of white sandwich bread.

Great Italian restaurant with delicious food and a cozy ambiance. The pasta is top notch as well as all the other items on the menu. Our table enjoyed the carbonara pasta, the bone in veal chop, the breaded veal, the braised short rib and the fish special – NC trout! Everything was fantastic. Top the night off with some peach cobbler. Will be back again! Also, our server Kelly was terrific, super friendly and funny! Forgive me for not using my camera flash when taking pictures in the lower light.

My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his aunts birthday! Our waiter Matthew provided excellent service and was very accommodating! This was the best authentic Italian food I’ve had in Atlanta so far. I forgot to take a photo but the chocolate bread pudding was amazing as well. 10/10 We will definitely be back!

UPDATE: Di Paolo is officially my favorite Italian spot. The food is consistently exceptional and the staff treat us like family. Whenever we can, we try to sit at the bar with Zach! I highly recommend the pizza di carne (extra crispy), the shrimp di gamberi, and the creamy polenta with bolognese. We LOVE this place and come usually once every few weeks. Older: Just tried this local spot for the first time last night and it was an absolute delight. Our waitress (DeDe) provided exceptional service from beginning to end and the food was phenomenal. Will be returning very soon!
