The best Jamaican food in Bowie! The portions are huge and delicious. It’s enough for two servings! Just look at the picture y’all! Curry goat and oxtail are my favorite dishes. After returning from my vacation in Jamaica; I stopped by D&G for authentic Jamaican. You can’t go wrong.
The establishment is cozy and clean. I’ll have to check out the bar next time!
Also, that rum cake was top tier!
I’ve also used them for catering a few times, most recently on my birthday this year, and it’s always a hit. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the food tastes just as good as when you eat in. Most importantly, the customer service is A1 every time I go, and I really like that the owner will sometimes come out and greet you…it feels so personal and welcoming!
Their juices are so good too. The pineapple ginger is my favorite! Plus, they’ve got a daily happy hour with good drinks and karaoke night on Fridays, which makes it a nice fun vibe. My family goes several times a month, and I’m just glad to have D&G close by with great food and healthy options.
I definitely recommend them, 10/10!
I ordered the goat with rice/beans, vegetables and beef patties. I was given a good amount of food and the patties were FIRE!
This will definitely be my spot whenever I crave Jamaican food.
Thank You!
I ended up getting the curry goat. I’ve had curry goat before and it’s one of my favorite Caribbean dishes.
When I got home to eat the curry goat it didn’t have any flavor at all except for a lot of pepper. No other kind of spices, salt or nothing, just bland. I have never had a curry goat that was bland. I was so disappointed. If the place wasn’t so far from me I would have taken the food back. That was a waste of money.
BEWARE. I tried to dispute the charge, but it seemed like whatever system they use blocks credit card disputes. Just a heads up for whoever decides to purchase from here. I am grossly disgusted by their lack of customer service. I’m a first time customer and this left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Mac was bland. Did not taste flavorful or with salt and not cheesy.
Jerk chicken was not great. The sauce tasted very sweet like barbecue sauce with a hint of spice. Chicken was soft and a little bit dry.
Have not wasted Jamaican jerk chicken in some years but the food did not bring familiarity to past Jamaican food I have eaten.
May visit again to give benefit of the doubt or try another Jamaican spot to compare and contrast.
The bright side was the guy in the register was nice and helpful. His service was great.
I understand inflation is hitting so many business and they have to keep up with rising costs and have to make enough money to pay staffers salary
