Visited Dewey’s today for my 70th birthday with friends. We waited over an hour for our food. When they served my friends’ meals she told me they ran out of the ingredients for mine so I reordered Eggs Benedict (they were out of boiled eggs for a chef salad). When they brought my order, two waitresses came within seconds of each other, each presenting me with individual patty melt platters. I told them that it wasn’t what I ordered. The one who waited on us remembered that I had ordered Eggs Benedict and apologized and returned to the kitchen. Meanwhile, one of my friend’s meals was cold and burned and the other’s meal was only burned. When the waitress brought my meal she apologized again and said she was going to talk to the owner and see if they could comp the meal. Throughout this whole debacle, the owner was walking around chatting loudly with people and playing with a little girl on the floor when she probably should have been helping in the kitchen. Anyway, she agreed to give us one free Coke, “because she’d go out of business if she comped everyone who had a bad experience!” We won’t be going back there.

I’m so very happy to see a new restaurant popping up. For quite a long time this location has been sitting without occupancy. They’ve cleaned up the place, enhanced the interior, and added a vintage flair. The food is something you could expect at a local diner which is fine. We don’t need fancy. Being that they are so short-staffed, I am absolutely amazed they are able to function as efficiently as they are. At current state, expect to wait. The weight is worth it though as you’re greeted by friendly owners running the business and hot food that hits the spot. I hope they are able to find more staff to better optimize the experience. As with any new business this day and age, finding help seems to be a big difficulty and I only hope that other patrons can have the patience needed. I am so glad I knew business has opened in this economy. The food was good, the coffee was good, the atmosphere was good, the staff / owners were absolutely inviting and friendly, and the location is nice. There’s lots of parking, and it’s within walking distance of a lot of houses. I look forward to seeing what they come up with in the future.

Second time here. Waited over 20 minutes to get menus, and then another 20 to get our order taken. We were there well over an hour before we got our food, and the place was not busy. Food was decent but wasn’t impressed.

There is no way this business will be able to operate long-term if these issues aren’t addressed.

I honestly don’t even know where to start. From the coffee being almost translucent, to food taking well over an hour, to my meal being completely forgotten, to poor service throughout the experience, it was one of the worst diner visits I’ve had in a very long time.

• A good diner is immediately judged by its coffee. This was shockingly weak. You could literally see through the pot as it was being poured. It looked more like tea than coffee, and once creamer was added it resembled milky water. That alone set the tone.

• We arrived at 10:00 AM and food didn’t come out until after 11:20, and even then, not all of it. The waitress dropped off plates for the table (mostly omelets with pancake sides) and walked away without acknowledging that I didn’t receive anything, nor did she bring syrup for the table.

About 8 minutes later, she returned and informed me the kitchen had forgotten my order entirely.

During the time we waited for our waitress to come back and explain why I hadnt gotten my order, we asked another waitress for syrup. She seemed completely confused and never brought any.
When our waitress finally did, she brought both a standard syrup container and a random glass jug that clearly wasn’t meant for serving – this looked like a Stubbs BBQ Sauce bottle with the label ripped off. Were they different syrups or different containers, there was no explanation, and she rushed off immediately.

• I then had to wait another 10 minutes for my food while the rest of the table was finishing. At that point, we were already behind schedule. My wife kindly waited for me, but the rest of the group had to move on.
There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the mistake, and no attempt to comp or discount the missed meal, something most restaurants would do without hesitation.

• When we were ready to leave, the waitress brought a single bill for a table of five adults. When we asked to split it, she reacted as if it were a major inconvenience, and completely taken aback with a look of shock on her face. She said she’d take care of it, but we then waited another 10–15 minutes while she avoided the table and visibly glared over.

• We had planned to get to-go boxes, but at that point we just wanted to leave, worrying that our waitress would either be rude to us or take forever we didn’t want to risk it. We ended up finishing what my wife and I had planned for leftovers while continuing to wait for the bill.

• Eventually, we went up to the register ourselves to speed things up. This only highlighted how disorganized everything was. She was working off a crumpled receipt (did she really crumple our reciept out of frustrationat us..?), trying to recreate each bill while cross-referencing menu prices.

At that point, we gave up and just paid the bill as-is so we could leave.

This place has major issues with customer service, quality, organization, and kitchen execution. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I know we won’t be returning. and based on other reviews, it seems this isn’t an isolated incident.

Simple breakfast for two, both omelettes, took an hour and fifteen minutes to get to the table. One omelet was missing ingredients, the other was very runny and came without its toast. Coffee cups were not kept full, servers looked lost, was not even busy, and rather than apologize, they put the blame on a “big group”, which was less than 10 people. 3 tables walked out rather than wait for their food. This place will not stay open long if continued to run like this.

Cute, clean diner. Food to table time was as expected. We had fish fry. It was soooo good! My daughter had a kids burger, I tried a bite. That was really good too. Will definitely be back.
