Went in today after driving from Texas and got pecan crusted grouper, fried flounder and buffalo shrimp. Our waiter was great and had his recommendations. First the Buffalo shrimp; wife and daughter usually love fried buffalo shrimp but neither liked these. I thought they were ok. First problem was that there was barely any sauce on them making them basically just fried shrimp that looked like someone spilled a little sauce on them. Had they covered them, they would have been much better. Second, they were kinda chewy. We could have skipped the shrimp. My wife got the pecan crusted grouper. She liked it so much we had to all get a bite and to be honest, it was of the charts good; some of the best fish we’ve ever eaten. The hush puppies were great as well. My daughter and i got the fried flounder and it too was excellent. Over all the food was outstanding. For an order of buffalo shrimp, 6 extra hush puppies, a tea, a coke, two plates of fried flounder (with fries) and one plate of grouper with fries, it came out to $140. I felt the price was excessive for what we got but the food was very good quality. If you don’t mind the high prices, the food is excellent. Highly recommended!

The service was great. Great atmosphere. The view was very good. I love the coleslaw they give you before the meal. They offer different unique fish options. The lunch prices are reasonable. I will definitely go back next time I’m in the area.

This place was recommended to me as a good seafood spot in Destin. It was a great location by the harbor. We checked out the Harbor walk and then ate here. The inside of restaurant is a little dated and stuffy and the food was only so so. I liked how they brought out the cole slaw and the server was very friendly. It was too chilly to sit outside but I think that would have made for a better experience. Their lunch menu had good prices compared to a lot of other seafood places around. It’s definitely a place to check out if you’re in the area for a bit.

Best food I have found all week! Best crablegs My wife has ever had! Everything was cooked to perfection! Love the coleslaw! Sweet and creamy! I never thought to ask if I could get my meal blackened. Waitress took very good care of our party of eleven.

Popped in on a Monday night during January. They had a winter weekday special, and my wife and I got the boat run shrimp grilled and fried shrimp platters. Hard to beat, and delicious!! The seafood gumbo was also a 10/10. Will probably return during our snowbird stay.

On a Tuesday afternoon for lunch the place was empty.We were given a table on the outside patio. Great viwes. Started with the dozen oysters on half shell from Louisiana – meaty. Also had the lunch fried fish – Kingclip. It was tasty – firm, meaty and slighty sweet, but the fries came out cold. The Server was nice but appeared less friendly when we ordered a small snack type lunch.

The atmosphere is really good I love the outdoor seating and tables. The lunch menu is just ok. I had the gumbo,wouldn’t order it again. It’s very tomato based, spiced good though and lots of shrimp but I wouldn’t order it again. Fried shrimp was OK, ate one off hubby’s plate. The cold slaw and hush puppies were very good. I would go back and try dinner.

The gumbo was absolutely fantastic! The crab claws were decent but could definitely be better. The blackened fish was seasoned to perfection, although it was a bit dry. Overall, a lovely restaurant with great potential, just needs a few tweaks here and there.

The waiter was nice and offered complimentary coleslaw because the food was taking so long. We waited about over 30min. The food came out shortly afterward. I asked for lemon 4-5 times for my water. The server would walk away before we finished telling him what we needed. The blackened mahi mahi was overcooked. But everyone else in my party liked their dishes. My favorite was the mashed potatoes. It’s also pricey.

We had an exceptional experience at Dewey Destin’s, and our server Mike deserves special recognition. From the moment he greeted us, it was clear that he is highly skilled at his job and takes genuine pride in his work. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure every detail of our visit was handled perfectly.
What truly stood out was his professionalism and leadership presence. This is not someone simply going through the motions. Mike demonstrates the kind of work ethic, accountability, and customer focus that reflects extremely well on your restaurant. He is absolutely management material.
The food and atmosphere were excellent, but Mike’s service elevated the entire experience. Dewey Destin’s is fortunate to have him, and I hope ownership knows what a strong asset he is to the restaurant. Thank you.
