Dew Drop is a run of the mill small town eatery. Fries are good, they are “home made” style, which means they are softer and filled with starch (starch isn’t a bad thing, it is just if you want a fast food style fry, go to somewhere where it has been extracted (McDonalds)). The wait is long, but food is made to order, if it is busy, you will have a significant wait, so if you are in a hurry, ensure you call ahead and see if you can place your order.

The meat was cooked properly, but honestly it was nothing spectacular. I hate to say that, but I have been all over the world and have tried burgers from everywhere, this place, although over all good, rates near the middle for average. Take this with a grain of salt, it is not a bad rating, but four and five star ratings need to stop being handed out for average experiences.

Dew Drop Inn is a fantastic burger joint that we came upon by accident looking for a kid friendly lunch on the way home from Wind Cave National Park. The staff are super friendly, the wait wasn’t too long. They have a good assortment of foods, and the quality is top notch. We got the fish and chips, a few burgers, hot dogs, fries, smile fries, cheese curds, sweet potato fries, milkshakes, and drinks. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone within a 100 mile radius of Hot Springs, SD. It’s worth the wait and will now be our dinner or lunch plans whenever we go to Wind Cave or Mt. Rushmore.

The hamburger was pretty good, fries were a little greasy, but the large raspberry shake delicious.

Service was slow but there is seating outside, some in shade others in the sun so it was a pleasant wait.

There were 2 teenages taking orders and serving food, they were both delightful. An adult was cooking, they were all busy and working as fast as they could.

You have to order the hamburger if you come here. I had the bacon burger and loved every bite. The fries were good too, just like the wait staff. They were nice and funny, and they give a military and first responder discount.

We love drive ins and this place does not disappoint. The quality of the hamburger meat is real good. The fries are delicious. The workers are super friendly and helpful. This will be our go to spot for lunch when passing through town.

The ladies behind the counter were lovely, and the bison burger was very delicious! They do their fries similar to five guys, and their smoothies are fantastic as well!

A bit pricey for everything, but then again it tasted delicious and they had covered outdoor seating, so I felt like it was justified enough.

Great little place if you’re running away from Mount Rushmore.

This place is great! The first thing to be said is that a lot of their food is prepared from scratch, which means they are not at all a fast food joint. In my many visits, however, the service has never taken long enough to complain about, and the staff are friendly and kind. They offer great burger variations, a multitude of fryer food options, chicken baskets, fish baskets, and a vast selection of ice cream. From floats, to sundaes, and even their own take on “Blizzards”, Dew Drop Inn has been a go to of mine during my time in the Black Hills. I would highly recommend the patty melt, if you enjoy fried onions and rye bread, and a vanilla shake. Also, the fried pepper jack Mac-and-Cheese bites are to die for.

Excellent Burger. I had the Hot Springs burger, my friend had the Mammoth burger, both were quality meats with fresh toppings. The fries were hand cut, as well as the fried pickles. I could tell they take pride in their food.
