Let’s start with the Tito’s Cosmopolitan…. Let me tell you it is just about the most perfect drink I have ever had. This coming from someone who lived in NYC for the past 15yrs and moved to Tampa in January 2025. The bartender (Henry or Harry (I apologize if it’s incorrect)) has the magic touch with mixing drinks. At the very least my cosmopolitan that he makes is just out of this world!!! Perfect balance of sweet and tart with the perfect color!
Onto the food….
I have had the penne alla vodka twice and both times they were just as delicious as the first bite!! The vodka sauce is made to perfection. Not too heavy on the cream but still oh so delicious just the same!!!
My boyfriend had the chicken parm on the first visit and the chicken piccata the second. He swears they were both savory and delicious. He doesn’t eat much on his plate and he almost cleaned each dish each time!!
We ordered the garlic bread and it was sublime!!!! It’s almost like a cheat code they were so good like my cosmo!!!
Lastly, the Tiramisu was so light and decadent. Best way to cap a perfect dinner!!!
I have to give my highest regards to our server, Marcos!!! We had him as our server both times and he’s just the best! So attentive and thoughtful it not overbearing. Bravo, Marcos!!!
I’m so glad we found this of a restaurant!!! It really is downtown Tampa’s hidden secret!!!
For sure it will be my go to for my cosmo and for dinners in the future, 100%!
Thank you to all the staff members! You’re all amazing!
House-made pasta was the highlight here. The lobster tagliatelle was the stand out dish of the evening. The pasta was house made and cooked al dente. The lobster was fresh and balanced by rustic sauce. Portions were more than reasonable.
Service is friendly and knowledgeable, with staff who gladly guide you through the menu and pair wines. Marcos was the ultimate host! Looking forward to the next time!
Prices are very reasonable
$18 for a lunch portion sized penne all a vodka.
I would say it was more tomato, like a salsa de tomate.
Nice ambiance
Wine is great. House Pinot $10 a glass
I would give it another try.
I got the Calamari, Lobster Fra Diavolo & The Branzino (I can eat LOL). If you don’t get at least 2 of these you’re doing yourself a disservice. I forgot to get a pic of the calamari, and took a bite out of the Branzino before taking a pic.
100% recommend DeVito’s & I will be going back!!
The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern elegance and classic Italian warmth. The chandelier and interior details give it that upscale feel without being stuffy. It works just as well for a date night as it does for a birthday dinner or pre-theater meal.
Food-wise, everything we tried was solid. The penne alla vodka with pancetta was creamy and flavorful, the chicken parmesan was cooked perfectly, and the tiramisu was a standout light, balanced, and not overly sweet. The cocktails are also worth mentioning. The Tito’s Cosmopolitan was made just right, and the wine selection pairs well with the menu.
Service really elevates the experience here. The staff is attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. You feel taken care of, not rushed.
Pricing is reasonable for the quality, portion sizes, and location. Overall, a great Italian restaurant that delivers a consistently enjoyable experience. Definitely a go-to spot when in downtown Tampa.
To address other reviewers’ concerns: I do not tolerate garlic very well. I was surprised that Italy was not a problem for me. Neither was DeVito’s. A hint of garlic but not enough to bother me. I thought the saltiness of both dishes was perfect.
The only dark spot is that they ran out of Peroni on tap just before I got there. It happens and not enough to remove a star.
The dishes I had was the bruchetta tomato basil, house salad with roasted beets and the rigatoni Bolognese. Finished with tiramisu. Incredible.
