Come taste the flavors of the Southwest combined with a delicious and unique South-Central Utah influence.
Our foods celebrate a ‘back to the land’ way of eating which honors ancient native ingredients and the abundance of fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, wines and more which we carefully source to compliment the full flavors of our recipes.
We do our best and use the most honest ingredients we can find. We buy local, from friends, and grow some of our own stuff. We are a ‘from-scratch’ kitchen and make most things right here. But we are also proud to serve and use top foodstuffs which we do not make ourselves.
We hope you’ll come in and savor the Devil’s Garden Grill experience in person!

If you are worried about finding a good meal in Escalante, then look no further than Devil’s Garden Grill. I highly recommend starting with the duck tostada and just going from there. You can’t go wrong. And if you’re a dessert fanatic like me, get the apple cheesecake. The crust is excellent!

I don’t know if I was just hungry from hiking or what, but this was the best meal I’ve had in YEARS. I was not expecting such an amazing dinner from a tiny town in Utah. Everything from the free cornbread, to the house salad with charred lemon dressing, to the tamale, to the pork chop and twice baked potato….truly incredible. The service was also top notch. They’ve got a small kitchen but seemed to be doing a great job getting all the food out in a timely manner. My entree came out almost 15 minutes after I ordered! If I come back to Escalante anytime soon you’ll bet I’ll be right back at Devils Garden!!

We had the Guacamole Club and Green Chile Patty Melt. Food was excellent. For lunch, all sandwiches are $12 and salads are $10. Gave it a 4 star for the lunch prices.

Best restaurant in the area! I had the rabbit with green chile polenta, which is apparently only available sometimes, and it was delicious. The side veggies had a great roasted flavor and the tomato chip was crispy and full of flavor. Definitely would go again!

Fantastic restaurant in Escalante. Southwestern gourmet. Came with the family. Wife had a prickly pear margarita (awesome), and I had a glass of malbec. Started with cups of homemade gazpacho. Shared a chile relleno, lamb burrito with chile polenta. for the main entrees. Hands down the best burrito I’ve ever had. Everything was excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly / service very good. Highly recommend if you are in escalante.

Cool dinner stop. The tamales were so good. I ended up with the green chilli meatloaf. It was pretty good but was lacking in any green chilli taste. Veggies were fresh and tastey. My buddy got the stuff pepper dish and that was pretty amazing. Oh the cornbread served before dinner was one of the best cornbreads I’ve ever had.

Nothing you would expect in Escalante (all other places are great as well though). One simple word for you guys: Awesome!!!
Had the 32 oz Rib Eye. It was perfectly cooked and even salad and dessert were amazing. And i also had amazing Florentine Steaks in Italy. You guys are doing an awesome job. And the Ambiente was well done as well.
We will come back next your for a Men’s Vacation stop over 🙂

Was not expecting a place like this in remote Escalante. Excellent food and great customer service made this place a fine dining experience. Friendly staff, simple and well maintained interiors. If you’re vegetarian, recommend their ‘Grilled Zucchini and Green Chile Quesadilla’ and ‘Roasted Chile Relleno’. Beer is vegetarian too and they have good variety of local and brand names, besides other cocktails. Loved their dessert. And they were surprisingly inexpensive.

We were traveling through Escalante and Devil’s Garden Grill came highly recommended by our innkeeper. It did not disappoint. We had the special that evening, a smothered buffalo barbacoa burrito…might be the best burrito I’ve ever had. Very friendly service and nice decor. We we’re very impressed by the quality of food and service, one of best meals we had in a long time.

Easily the best meal of our entire trip. Score! Family-run joint near perfection on all levels: service to atmosphere and most important, food.
Local UT offerings alongside amazing southwestern fare, elevated in presentation but very true to traditional flavors. Tart and spicy cocktails from their margarita menu, chicken tortilla soup and deviled eggs as starters, and an EPIC burrito special of braised pork shoulder with a unique green Chile polenta- all of the above an A+.
To us- obvious the only reason this place has fewer (but still great) reviews than others in the area is that it is new. Hands down our favorite restaurant in Escolante and best meal in Utah.
