My wife and I tried the hot specialty mixed drink with Brownie batter, 5yr rum, cinnamon and toasted marshmallows on top, and it was perfect after walking 11 minutes from our Airbnb in what felt like 4°F outside. Highly recommend trying it out.
We stumbled into Devil Takes A Holiday on a visit to Burlington last summer, and were immediately blown away by their cocktails. They’re truly one of a kind and indescribable. Fast forward to planning our wedding some months later, my husband and I asked several of our other vendors for recommendations for an after party location (since we’re not from the area), and so many of them said no where would beat DTAH and working with Taylor, the owner/manager. This basically solidified our decision and we spent little time on other options.
Though we booked several months in advance, Taylor was super communicative throughout and made every accommodation we asked for feel easy. The biggest of all was setting up an instant ramen bar as a late-night snack for our guests – we provided the ramen, but we were so pleasantly surprised upon arrival to see that DTAH had also set out several toppings such as soft-boiled eggs, corn, scallions, and crispy onion! Truly above and beyond.
But most of all, we were just so excited to share their cocktails that we had been gushing to everyone about for so long. We had around 60-70 guests make it to the after, and DTAH kept their entire menu available to us (no easy feat, but they handled it so seamlessly), and we kept getting comments throughout the night about how they were some of the best cocktails people had ever had.
If you’re in need of a private event space in the future, don’t look further because I genuinely think DTAH is the best option in terms of cocktails, service, and vibes in Burlington. And if you’re not, definitely stop by and make yourself a regular – we know we’d definitely be here every weekend if we could!
Cheers,
Laurie and Ed
Great wine list, with a bunch of interesting, out of the box choices, with natural wines or unusual grape varieties or strange country/state of origin.
We were hooked on the house lambrusco, and stopped here twice in two nights. Friendly, helpful service.
No food on premises, but you can order flatbreads from next door.
Prices are a bit upscale, but for the eclectic styles it’s worth it if you’re into wine. But if you’re not, the cocktails looked good, and they have a few craft beer taps and a few bottles/cans.
Ambiance is sophisticated but fun. We had a great time here. Definitely a good first date kind of place.
