This style of pizza – defined by its crispy edges & hearty substance – is prevalent in Michigan & parts of the Midwest, but difficult to find elsewhere. We exist to change that, & we want to promote Detroit’s culture of resilience & innovation along the way. We can’t wait to share a slice of the Motor City with you.

It’s so good to see Detroit Style aka Deep Pan Pizza in Los Angeles. When I moved here 10 years ago there was maybe 1 place. Now it’s everywhere and I love it. Being from the metro Detroit area, I’ve had a few of their pies now and I can say it’s a solid place. Now I wish the pepperoni were smaller and/or under the cheese but that’s alright. Make sure to get some ranch to try with The Corvette! Oh and how could I forget,n they have Vernors in GLASS IYKYK

Definitely recommend! We were visiting LA with the family and decided to try this place. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The pizza was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Detroiter, Margherita, Firebird, and Stafford.

I went there today to get some food for my staff and was met by Hunter, who I later found out is the owner. I have to tell you, it was immediately clear why he is the owner. His level of respect and accommodation was excellent. He makes you feel welcome, and you can tell he takes pride in his work and genuinely believes in his pizza.

The pizza was fantastic. My staff and I loved it, and we will definitely be going back. I had a great conversation with Hunter as well. He comes across as very humble and carries himself exactly how a business owner should, caring about customer experience, public relations, and building long-term relationships.

Thanks a lot, Hunter, for accommodating me today. I will definitely be coming back! It smelled so good and tasted so good that we ate the entire pizza at the speed of light and didn’t even have time to take a picture of it. Haha. Here is what was left of the pizza! Lol.

As a Detroiter, these guys do a great job of replicating some of the best thick and crispy Detroit style pizzas. The only thing I may have missed is trying their Greek-Detroit style salad on the menu to complete the experience. Will update on the next experience.
The counter service and their website has a QR Code to scan for a significant discount on your first Apo based order.

Almost what you want a pizza to be.

I got two 4 corner pizzas. The Stafford and a Pepperoni, jalapeño, pineapple (hate me if you want) and ricotta.

The good: tons of toppings and cheese. Perfect amount of sauce. Great spring to the bread and perfectly crispy crust, just the way a Detroit style pizza should be. The ricotta had a nice char to it and it made for a great creamy/smoky flavor. Fast and good service.

The meh: the sauce had a little more “spices” flavor than I personally like. It over powers the flavor of the toppings a little instead of bringing everything together in a nice little flavor marriage. In a pizza style that’s so much about the crust/bread, I was disappointed in the rather bland flavor. I wonder if it wasn’t as enriched as it could be? Lacking some of the flavor the fat brings. The density of the bread wasn’t bad, and like I said it was nice and springy with a good bite feel, but I also wouldn’t have minded if it was a bit lighter.

The bad: I don’t mind some good char but the pepperoni was just burnt. It made for a strong burnt smell that influenced the whole eating experience. I love the small peps that curl up on the edges. I love how you get a little crispy rim and then that meaty center. These peps were just all crisp. The cheese was bland. Cheese is the most important part of a pizza, especially a Detroit style, since there is so much bread to each bite.

Overall, I’m not disappointed in trying this place, but It feels like they are just a small step away from being a great pizza.

I like what they’re doing, game changer style of pizza. Very good vegan pizza option. Something different and taste good. Surprised they only have a location. Hunter I’ll come say hello.

2025.12.18 Had the pleasure of volunteering with Co-Founder Zach at a local event (Stone Soup) and hearing some of the backstory of Detroit Pizza Depot. I’m a HUGE fan of the crispy edges, the cheesy goodness. IYKYK, those corner pieces be the best. Anyone knows about the TIMING of appreciating a good pizza and how it changes in texture and temperature over time. I can say it’s amazing fresh and ALSO amazing after cool down. Zach assured us that it reheats like a dream but this is a good slice cold too. With a thicker crust I worry that the bread will overwhelm the rest of the flavors especially after time passes, but this one is a solid build and the taste serves goodness. Check it out!

I’ve eaten a lot of great pizza in San Francisco and Los Angeles and this was not one of them. I’m surprised to be writing this considering it shows 4.7 out of 5.0 stars. The 4 corner pizzas were $20 each on average, and we tried three different ones, and honestly I would have been happier with an $8 pizza from Dominos. The reviews on here do not make
sense to me at all.

I almost cried when I saw the food. They told me the owner is from Detroit. The owner should be ashamed. I had gotten some friends in the neighborhood excited and spent 5-10 minutes apologizing to them.

Please do not judge “Detroit Style Pizza” be this “food” if it’s you’re first experience.

2 stars because chicken wings were edible. Bread sticks and pizza were horrific. Cook and cashier were nice.

The robot you order from should make this a 1 star.

(Edit – was contacted and refunded. I was told they’ve improved the ordering process. )

I’ve been there a couple of times, and both times the owner waited on me. He not only was taking orders, he was also making the pizzas and bussing the tables. Both times my pizza was baked to crispy perfection. I love the cup n crisp pepperoni and the sauce is light and not overwhelming. It’s my cheat-day go-to, and should be yours too!
