We have been looking forward to trying this place for a while now. It looks like an old school drive up. It does look a bit run down. But looks clean. Our server was very friendly and helpful as we explained it was our first time. We placed an order for two burgers with cheese: a Detour with cheddar and one with no pickles, no onions, no Detour sauce add pepper jack and a root beer float. Service was very quick.
However, we were sadly disappointed with our burgers when we opened them up. The regular Detour with cheddar had just one old, old shriveled piece of lettuce, two pieces of cut ring red onions and was so hastily thrown together that it was a mess. Plus the bottom of the bun was so wet with grease and , I guess, juice. it was useless trying to use it to hold onto my burger. It got trashed along with the shriveled piece of lettuce. Second burger was hastily thrown together, as well, but no soggy bottom. But was, also, very greasy burger. The float was not the best I have ever had. It was one small scoop of ice cream with lots root beer. Eh, we will skip this place from now on. Better burgers just down the street. It’s really not that hard to make a good burger and a nice presentation with it. Just not worth coming back. Too many other good options around town.

This place was awesome. I loved the old fashioned dining experience. My burger was amazing as were the cilantro lime fries. Burger was so juicy and the fries were great. So was their detour dipping sauce. So tasty! I highly recommend you give this place a try. They also make their own Ice cream.
I have gone back several times since my first review and oh my goodness y’all, their Jack & Coke ice cream is amazing and so is the mudslide! My husband and I are hooked. We have our new favorite burger and shake place!

Got a cheeseburger to go. Car hop service was polite and speedy. Burger was ready quick. The burger was a nice juicy hand pressed 1/3 pounder. Will return for more.

The burgers are exceptional! Hot and juicy! The bag of fries are huge and also very good! We were just out for a drive and saw it going through Kaufman. Will definitely come again! The service was great as well.

I’ve heard people say that their burgers are too greasy but they’re not it’s just a really good juicy burger! Also, I recommend their birthday cookie shake. If you like trying unique things, try the U-turn fries.

Burgers and ice cream are fantastic. The fries leave a bit to be desired. They were hot but in no way crisp and lacked seasoning even though advertised as black pepper and sea salt seasoned. I will definitely be back for the Burgers as the Detour Burger was put together just they way I think a burger should be. The ice cream is delicious but super rich so be ready for the real deal. Finally the sweet tea is majorly sweet even for this southern style tea drinker.

All I want to Say is “DETOUR” should definitely be what you want to do about this place. $3.50 for a so called 2 scoop ice cream in a cup more like 1 stuck together. WOW!!! 1ST TIME CUSTOMER GONE!!!!
