After a long day of driving, I decided to order in so I wouldn’t have to leave the hotel. Grubhub delivered my food, but part of my order was missing. I was short a pork chop and didn’t receive the peach cobbler I paid for.
I tried calling the restaurant several times right away, but only reached an answering machine. They close at 7:00 pm and my order arrived around 6:45 pm, so there was no way to get help before they shut down. To make matters worse, they aren’t open on Saturday and I’m leaving Saturday night, so I can’t even try to be reimbursed.
Really disappointing experience, especially after already paying for the items and having no way to resolve it.

My dad wanted fried chicken, my mom wanted catfish and I wanted fried green tomatoes. I We were pleased! This isnt a place to sit and eat. But it is a place with good to-go plates!

Went here for the first time today for lunch. I had the 3-sides plate with collard greens, mac & cheese, and dressing. My husband had fried catfish, yams, and potato salad. Both came with a cornbread muffin. Everything was delicious! The owner/chef/server (he was the only one working and was doing all the jobs!) was friendly. I definitely want to go back to try more of their dishes. My only complaint is that it was very cold in the restaurant. Thus, I urge you to eat at Destiny’s so that they make enough income that they can turn on their heat in January!

This place should be ashamed of themselves. The place has a stale smell, not polished looking at all. They keep all the food in the refrigerator and warm in the microwave. Therefore, it’s obviously not cooked daily. The mac and cheese was like something I had never seen, and it had a sour taste. The texture of the mac and cheese is off along with the dressing and banana pudding. Like, I spent 34 dollars for trash!!! They have lost the care in this place, that’s why only one person is working. When you stop caring, it shows in the establishment and food. It’s just not worth the time and drive from Hueytown. The dressing is mushy, and the banana pudding made me so sick just looking at it. I don’t like to cook and can do way better than this.
Your business is failing because the food is the pits. I waited about 15 minutes or so. It was lunchtime, and no one else came.
I recommend that if you do not do better, just close the place and stop giving out less than good food. SHAME ON THE OWNERS, YOUR TASTE BUDS ARE TRASH!!!

Oh my I got catch fish blackeye peas and collards greens with cornbread peas was delicious fish good but a little over season greens needed a little more seasoning bread delicious….overall a good soul food meal for the price…will visit again

Manager is rude. Ego is high!!! Food is not that good unless you have your own seasoning. Half of the time they not even open. I live 35 minutes away and I drove faithfully for a week and they’ve been closed. All they stuff is rewarmed in the microwave. Definitely from overnight or days before. Not made the day of. I would’ve given this place 3 stars but that attitude and the smart remarks definitely made me not wanna go back.

Dressing was gummy with a bar BBQ flavor., the meatloaf dry and tight. We purchased 3 dinners out of the 3 the only thing that I would recommend would be the fried okra, the fried chicken has no seasoning at all. If you was not looking at it you would not know it was fried chicken. A great menu just need better Cooks that’s not good in the hood
