10/10 ….Please don’t listen to the negative reviews about the mac n cheese it was delicious! Honestly, I think the people complaining must not like flavor or seasoning because mine was creamy, well-seasoned, and the perfect comfort side.

The customer service was amazing as well. I really appreciated how the servers came around consistently to check if we needed refills, extra BBQ sauce, napkins, or just to make sure we were enjoying our food. It made the whole experience feel welcoming and cared for.

The oxtails were very good! Next time, I’ll definitely get the full order because the half order came with only three pieces. The ribs were also excellent super flavorful and the half portion came with six pieces. The brisket was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor.

Overall, everything was seasoned well, cooked perfectly, and served with great hospitality. I’ll definitely be back!

Destination Smokehouse absolutely delivered a top-tier experience from start to finish. The brisket was incredibly tender and truly melted in your mouth. The turkey was moist, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The beef rib fell right off the bone, was exceptionally juicy, and had outstanding flavor with subtle pepper notes that really elevated the bite. The mac and cheese had just a touch of spice and was rich, creamy, and delicious.

The service matched the food in excellence. The door greeter was welcoming, helpful, and set the tone right away. The cashier was super friendly and provided great customer service. There was plenty of staff on hand, and everyone we interacted with was helpful, attentive, and accommodating.

We drove in from Fontana and it was 100 percent worth the drive. If you are looking for high quality barbecue with great service to match, Destination Smokehouse is a must try. Highly recommended.

Came here for the oxtails but enjoyed the brisket way better. Food was ok, kinda pricey. The oxtails were ok, but the brisket was probably the best I’ve ever had from any bbq spot. Melt in your mouth good. Mac n cheese and the beans were also good. I think this is one of those drive far to try it but I wouldn’t do it twice unless I really wanted good brisket. Still tasty and they have these lemonade drinks there that was the best I’ve ever had also. If I was looking for good brisket and lemonade I’m coming back. It’s definitely worth a try! Gave 2 stars on service because 2 cashiers for such a long line was no good. Need to open up more cashiers to manage the flow of the long line.

I have to be honest. I’m residing in Texas so when comes to smoke and bbq my pallet is no rookie. #1 they are overpriced. #2 the mac and cheese isn’t baked. It taste like stove top impo. The bake beans are ok. The brisket and beef ribs have my approval. But the oxtails… absolutely NOT. Idc about tender where flavor is lacking or overbearing. These oxtails are wayyyyy too seasoned. We ended up throwing them away.

On a good note the manager is so sweet.

Would i return if i lived here? If I couldn’t find a good smoke beef rib no where else then yes. If I could then no.

I traveled from Minneapolis while visiting San Diego and drove an hour to try this viral barbecue spot. When we arrived around 10:30 AM, the line was already long. They normally open at 11, but didn’t open until 11:30 that day for reasons that weren’t explained. Once inside, it took another 30 minutes to place our order since only two people were working the registers.

Despite the wait, the experience was still exciting. When our food came out, the presentation was beautiful. We ordered the mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, beef brisket, ribs, and Texas toast. Everything was incredibly tender—just like everyone says. The brisket was the absolute star of the show: flavorful, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth. The ribs were also very tender and fell right off the bone, but they were surprisingly lacking in flavor. The meat itself didn’t seem seasoned or marinated, which made them a bit bland compared to the other items.

Overall, Destination Smokehouse is definitely worth the hype for the tenderness and quality of the brisket alone. My only suggestion would be to season or marinate the ribs more so the flavor matches the texture. Otherwise, great food and a solid experience!

Come early! I got here at 10:30 and there was already a line. The food is delish. My go-to is the Brisket & Cheddar (sandwich) on Texas Toast. My husband loves the oxtails- its pricey but worth it. I suggest you buy the whole lb ($45). Everything is a la carte, which I prefer. You basically build your platters. DJ Erineil was killing it on the turntables. I loved his MC. It was good vibes, good food, love being at a family cook out.

Food was really good! Everything was good. Will say the oxtail was a let down. Dare I say this but they caked on too much seasoning on it. Need to let the taste of the meat shine a little more. Super expensive but you gotta pay the price to eat good bbq. The employees were pretty rude though! So that sucks a lil bit

We Drove up from San Diego got there early 2nd in line waited with a good crowd of people at 9AM hopping it would be hot and fresh to have options of everthing available but to be walking in at 11:10 when they opened up and dropping over 330$ plus tax just to be served cold meat it was kind of disappointing.
The hottest thing to come on the platter was the candy yams, Mac and Cheese.
The brisket was good but again served Luke warm to the point the fat was solidified within minutes? confused how when they just opened.
The Oxtail was over seasoned for our liking.
The ribs were good probably one of the few things we would want to actually eat while there.
The turkey was glorified delimeat.
Not trying to hate probably would’ve been a better experience if the food was hot when it was brought out it was honestly better when we microwaved a plate up at home….

Destination Smokehouse (Murrieta, CA) is the best barbecue I’ve ever had in my life and yes, that includes Terry Black’s and other heavy hitters in Texas, plus every hyped spot in California.

This is elite BBQ. Period.

The brisket, the Dino Beef Rib, the Pork Ribs, the Pork Belly, everything has real smoke, perfect render, and actual depth, not greasy, not dry, not riding reputation. The Mac and Cheese . Every bite tastes intentional. You can tell this is cooked by people who respect the fire and the craft.

I’ve eaten my way through Texas and California BBQ scenes. Nothing has hit like this. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just execution at the highest level.

If Destination Smokehouse were dropped into Texas, it wouldn’t just survive, it would compete.

Hands down. No debate.
