This was my first time experiencing Ethiopian cuisine. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Our orders came out really quickly. The location is small but expanding from what I understand.

Every time, it’s a Hit! Veggie Platter with the Prime Rib Tibs and Lentil Sambousa got me dancing My My My. Slappin. The collards are not southern, they’re Ethiopian. Gotta try em to know the difference. Didn’t taste broth based, more pan seared/ cooked straight up. The pita bread was plain and kinda fluffy and not light and crispy. We are so full with leftovers at a great price. So fast and nice. Really one of our favorite places. They close at 9 during weekdays mostly. Plenty of seating for a kinda small place.

First time trying ethiopian food and I loved every bit of it. We had tibs with tilapia and mushroom, rice, and tomato fitfit. We also had kitfo. We were truly impressed with how flavorful tibs was. My favorite part was rice side dish (i know it’s a weird dish to pick) but its subtle flavor was so lovely. Tomato fitfit is pretty sharp but I loved it. Service was fantastic. We will go again!

I stopped here for lunch today, the weather was perfect so I sat on their covered patio. I wasn’t sure what to order, but the waiter recommended the lamb tibs, so I had that with rice, salad, gomen, and pita bread. This was one of the best meals that I’ve had in a while. The meat was tender and seasoned well, very flavorful, with a slight spicy kick to it. The side of gomen was SO good and definitely my favorite part of the meal.

Was recommended this restaurant by a chef I work with; I’m not particularly a fan of Ethiopian food but I figured I’d give it a go. Needless to say I was very pleasantly surprised; the appetizers (I ordered the Sambusa and Fitera) were simple but well made, and the hot sauce for the sambusa complemented it especially well. The entrees were amazing too — the marinade on the chicken tasted great and it was very juicy despite how small the tibs were cut (which I was impressed by), and the potato stew had the perfect level of spice to it. Only thing I didn’t completely enjoy was the injera, but I have never been one for injera anyway. Overall, a pleasant surprise, and easily the best Ethiopian food I’ve had

So far, two for two. I’ve done at this restaurant on two occasions and have been pleasantly surprised each time. The entrees are always tasty and mouth watering. The services fast and friendly. I look forward to my third visit.

Desta was everything I could have asked for while visiting Atlanta! As we were seated on the outside patio, the vibe was set as I noticed Afrobeat Music playing making me feel at home.

I ordered the lamb tibs with injera and gomen. Perfect serving size, my lamb was cooked a little too well done for my preference, but the flavor made up for it. I will definitely come back.

I was in the mood for Gomen (Ethiopia collard greens), fried tilapia and injera (Ethiopia bread). My usual spot didn’t have any fresh fish today so I decided to come here because it was close and I have heard about it. So me and my bestie went & order the vegan (actually vegetarian) platter with salmon and grouper. First the fish comes chopped in bite size pieces instead of whole or a fillet style. It’s cooked with grill red onion and tomatoes (mainly to stretch the amount) but I like the flavors together. The gomen was not good. The other vegetable’s were good but every thing was missing something. The flavors were not as strong and authentic as I like or prefer. Overall the service was fast, food was hot and atmosphere was very chill and great for families and gathering. We sat outside on the closed in patio and enjoy the nice breeze. Inside is very small, it only can fit 1 large group and about 5 more tables of 4’s. Plenty of free parking all around the building. And they have a bar and drive up for online or called in orders.
